After switching to work with one of the partners and upon requesting a breakdown of the fees that were given to us right before the filing date and were considerably higher that we ever expected. This was his response "We are NOT in the business of keeping detailed comments on every hour spent on your work." Its amazing to me that you can charge the rates you do, but can't account for the time spent. We have since moved on from this company and can't believe how much better the costumer service and willingness to actually look for better tax advantages has been. Can't recommend this company to anyone I like.

I met with Daren several years ago for a consult and it's a gift that keeps on giving. I read three tax books before opening my business, but I still understood that there were more nuanced areas that I needed to be aware of. Hence, I did consults with various accountants to see what they had to say. Daren was very patient and made comments that informed my business decision-making at the time, during COVID, and as I continue to grow. The comments also impacted the way I think about life, my specialty, and the intersection of business and financial strategy. Numbers can be calculated but the ROI on wisdom is incalculable (yeah, I know it's cheesy but I had to say it).

I am beyond words thankful for Sigrist, Cheek & Potter. I was referred to them by two friends and to be fair, I have always filed my own taxes so I have been skeptical of someone else doing it. From day one when I called to request information Natalie was a superstar and very informative. Joel called me himself (not an assistant) and walked me through my tax questions and the process. My taxes were prepared quickly and his assistant Michelle helped me confirm everything was signed and filed with ease. I work in the legal field and customer service/client experience matters. Joel and his team never made me feel like a "number" and provided me realistic expectations and followed through. I hope this review helps more potential clients find a great firm to work with for their accounting needs.

They're nice and professional and are probably fine if your tax situation is straightforward. I found them to be patchy communicators (unclear responses that required clarification). I also had a small international income component to my taxes and felt they were clumsy at obtaining the best outcome on that front as I had to point them to my old tax return to suggest a better way for them to complete my taxes. If I hadn't done that my tax bill would have been higher. I wish I had gone somewhere with more expertise in global taxes. In addition to that, I had to file an amendment with the IRS this year and that was painful with this firm.

Solid experience, and very reasonable fees. When I first started with S, C, P and H, they recalculated my two prior returns and found $6,000 in mistakes from my prior tax professional. Extremely happy for 5 years now and counting...
