Pima Federal Credit Union - Green Valley, Arizona

We are members of Pima Federal Credit Union in Green Valley, Arizona. Today, I stood in line at the credit union to withdraw money to take to the post office for a money order to be mailed out.

Directly in front of me was a little old lady with a smile that had likely graced her face since 1930. She was a tiny, frail woman with a hunch in her back, carrying a plastic grocery bag and a cane.

The teller waved her forward, smiling warmly as she slowly made her way to the counter, struggling to take out a plastic tin of cupcakes for him. He came around the counter, embraced her genuinely, and called her by name.

They chatted in the friendliest manner during her brief business, and she then turned to have the same exchange with the office manager, presenting her with the second batch of cupcakes in a plastic store-bought tin.

When it was my turn after this woman, I spoke with Dallas and expressed how impressed I was with that customer interaction. He explained that the credit union differs from a bank in that regard. He swiftly demonstrated this by glancing at my last name on my driver's license and saying he had never met me because he always works with Brenda. He didn't need to check the computer; he looked at my driver's license and connected my last name with my wife's first name.

Humanity had disappointed me this morning, but that truly made my day. 🙂

The customer service is fabulous. Someone is always there to answer the phone and will always take the time needed to assist me with processes and questions. I have my checking and savings accounts here and am currently refinancing my mortgage with PFCU. They offer great financial products and competitive rates. Always delighted to do business here.

The customer service is first class. Stephanie and Holli have been amazing. I feel like I'm in the old show Cheers when I walk in the Sahuarita/Green Valley branch, "Where everybody knows your name". Pima offers free ATM's all over the country, a great free checking account, very low interest rates and a awesome APP with mobile deposits. They also offer excellent student, youth, and business accounts. Been a member with PFCU for some 20 years, always been a happy a customer.

I was trying to open a youth account. I went to the branch and I was told I needed an appointment since it was closer to closing time and it would take them about 45 minutes. It was 20 minutes til closing. I've never seen a branch turned down someone trying to open an account. Figures bad service.

I spent 45 minutes driving to the only location marker as open on the weekend. Turns out, they just don’t know how to edit their hours online.

First credit union ATM that I've encountered that charges a fee to withdraw from my credit union back home. Not cool.
