Then, when we had a death in the family a few months later, Sonja helped us navigate the difficult process of selling their home. She gave us amazing advice and made sure we got a fair price. We had an extremely disappointing experience with Wetzel Realty. Despite our leniency, flexibility, and numerous accommodations, they took advantage of us, leading to significant financial and emotional stress.

On the day of the move-in inspection, we were informed that their client would no longer be moving in due to a change in employment status and was returning to their home country. This sudden and unexpected change left us with lost rental income, additional costs for re-listing, and the burden of maintaining the property vacant.

We prioritized their client over other potential tenants, made significant home improvements as requested, and left many of our personal belongings and outdoor equipment for their convenience. We even altered our move to out of State based on their client's needs, incurring additional costs for extra days of U-Haul rental to vacate our home in a hurry.

Despite promising to find another suitable renter, Wetzel Realty stopped communicating with us after the lease termination. This left us in a difficult position without any support or assistance.

We trusted Wetzel Realty to ensure stability and reliability in the leasing process, but they failed to meet even the most basic expectations. Their lack of professionalism and responsibility in handling this situation has left us deeply disappointed.

Despite our efforts to communicate and seek resolution, Wetzel Realty failed to provide adequate support or compensation for the inconvenience and financial strain they caused. Their client's abrupt departure caused significant challenges for our family, and we were left in a difficult position without any assistance from the realty company.

While we initially had a good working relationship and rapport with their team, this experience has severely damaged our trust in their services. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend against using Wetzel Realty or the company they represent. Their handling of this situation was unacceptable and unprofessional.

We hope this review helps others avoid similar issues and find more reliable and trustworthy realty services.

We used Wetzel Realty to buy our first own house.
Before we searched by ourselves for over a year on all the common internet platforms with no luck.
As first-time home owners, we surely weren't the easiest clients. But SONJA was very patient and very well understood our wishes and was able to narrow down the search field to what we were really looking for. We kept looking online by ourselves in parallel, but then it was Sonja who found the house that checked all boxes! She also helped to frame our winning offer and then took us by the hand with all the documentation and contracting stuff. And she still checks in from time to time reminding us of duties around the house, e.g. tax-related duties and deadlines not to miss.
Being native Germans we had no clue at all what to do and what to think about in the house-buying process here in the US. Sonja could relate to all our concerns and took away our fears. She was very motivated and professional. We highly recommend her and Wetzel Realty!

Wetzel Realty is going beyond usual realty services. We use them since 2010 in different roles - as agents for tenants / expats looking for a rental home, as first, second, third, way too many times as buyers agents and from time to time also as sellers agents.
We mainly worked with Paul and Sonja.
With our last purchases in crazy times (market situation - houses being sold within 24 h, Covid) Sonja did an extraordinary job, fulfilled all of our requests and needs in no time, even during the weekends and holidays. I don’t know how many showings we had and offers we placed to finally get two houses purchased (one with international financing) she always stayed patient, helpful and very professional.
Especially she helped pushing the bank and calmed down the sellers side to get finally the sale done.
We certainly are looking forward to working with Wetzel Realty again.
