I will give this business 1 star because Yolanda was pleasant.

Now let me start this review with an advice to all of you reading this. DO NOT FILE YOUR TAXES WITH A TAX SERVICE unless you have a business, investments, or some other type of untypical income! It is a waste of money because everyone can file their taxes online for free, both federal and state, for FREE! Absolutely free. The online websites/programs where you can file your taxes are so simple to use with step by step instructions that anyone can do it.

I have never used professional tax services before and have done my taxes online, by myself, every year since I started working. I have never had any issues or been audited. Unfortunately, this year I decided, for several reasons but mainly because I got a government job now, to use professional tax services. I have spent money throughout the last year that was work related, moving costs, purchasing gear and supplies for work for which I was never reimbursed by the government, so I figured this would be something that could be written off on my tax return.

Nonetheless, before going in I still figured I’d do the online thing myself again and see what my return would be. It came out to $250 and that was ok. So, I went to Yolanda’s right after that and gave her my W-2s. I also told her what my occupation was as well. Yolanda spent less than 5 minutes, and this is not an exaggeration, 5 minutes, plugging in the numbers and then told me my return was $250. She did not ask me any questions about my income or expenses for the last year or any other questions for that matter. She told me I’m getting $250 back and then told me that since we did a “short-form” (having only one W-2) that I owe her $130 for the service!!! I turned red, kept my mouth shut, paid the bill and walked out.

I felt stupid, very stupid, but this was a learning experience. Never again will I use professional tax services! Ever. Paying someone $130 for 5 minutes of work that I could’ve done myself for free just seems like a waste of hard earned money. So my friends, take my advice and use online services, there is really nothing to it and you will get the same refund as with professional tax preparation except you won’t have to pay a thing!!! Don’t get ripped off like I did.

I actually switched from H&R Block where I paid an obscene amount of money and had my taxes ruined by some unexperienced person and went to Yolanda's Tax Service to have to problem fixed. She does not overcharge and has promptly responded to all my calls. Unlike the previous person giving their review I find that it is not usually the fault of the tax preparer, but usually the delay in processing due to paperwork being given to the preparer and the clients honesty when having their taxes done. Yolanda is very thorough when it comes to preparing taxes and I would recommend her to anyone. I trust her preparation and filing of my taxes. I would not go anywhere else now. You get honesty, professionalism, and follow through. She does a fabulous job.

Went in to get taxes done because she was recommended to me by someone I knew. I had 1 W2 form that’s it, very simple no dependents. Took maybe 4 minutes for them to complete if that, all said and done and was charged $145.. That’s ridiculous, for anyone with complex forms I get it but they didn’t even give me a warning beforehand, not competitive pricing whatsoever just that amount. Not returning, and I do NOT recommend.

I’ve been with Yolanda’s Tax Service for about 6-7 years. I give them two stars because of their lack of customer service. Every year, I reach out to Yolanda to make sure she’ll do my taxes for me (I live in Phoenix, AZ) sometimes I do have to e-mail twice or e-mail and call. Well, this year I’ve e-mail her twice, and called her four times AND left voice mails. It’s just a huge slap in the face, I’ve been with them so long and given them my money and I have to do all the work to get a hold of her Umm...no, I can go down the street for less money, first off and more convenient cause I do my taxes from Phoenix, AZ. I think it’s absolutely absurd that each year I have to constantly e-mail and/or call you multiple times, just FOR YOU TO DO MY TAXES AND ME PAY, YOU GOOD MONEY! So needless to say I will be going else where.

Ever since I was told about Yolandas, it's honestly the only place I have do my taxes now. She is on the ball! She literally is the quickest and sweetest tax preparer. I was in & out of there in 10 minutes!
