I previously left a review for Xoa Tax, and upon further reflection, I feel the need to provide more context after seeing the spike of 5 star reviews. I noticed a significant number of new "5-star reviews" appeared in a very short time frame, which made me question their authenticity. Upon closer inspection, many of these reviews seem to be from accounts with a similar pattern, and I now realize that my former bookkeeper, who recommended Xoa Tax, may have inadvertently influenced my perception based on these reviews.

While I understand that outsourcing work to different parts of the world is common, especially in accounting, I had high expectations that my chosen firm, as a certified public accountant, would be knowledgeable and experienced in U.S. tax law and bookkeeping practices. Unfortunately, the services provided have not met my needs, and the quality of work has fallen short of the standards I expected: Books were never submitted on time, chart of accounts are wrong, P&L is never ready. I always get charged for asking an updated P&L and they have to bill me extra hours to get me P&L that was supposed to be done on time.

@Kevin, I would like to resolve this in a positive manner. I am open to revisiting my previous review, but I would expect the work I’ve paid for, specifically the completion of my books and filing of taxes, to be finished in a timely and professional manner as per the agreement. It's important to me that the necessary actions are taken to fulfill your obligations as a CPA.

I had high hopes for Xoa Tax (Kevin) when I made the switch from my previous CPA, but unfortunately, my experience has not met expectations. Over the past 12 months, I’ve had very little oversight or clarity about the work being done on my accounts. Recently, I checked my QuickBooks and was shocked to find that my books were completely outdated, messy, and not reconciled. There’s a $700k cash balance in the drawer, which doesn’t even add up or make sense.

While I can’t speak for Kevin personally, it’s hard to know where things went wrong because the quality of service is unclear. After raising some concerns internally, I received an email last minute (2 days before tax filing date) stating that they were no longer able to continue working on our books. That shows that they did not have the capacity nor the right experience to handle my books in the beginning. Last 12 months we have paid Xoa Tax over 35k worth of billings and did not do work that moves the needle. This left me in a difficult position and, unfortunately, in an even worse state than when I switched over to Xoa Tax.

One of the main reasons I moved from my previous CPA was because of their lack of experience with multi-state sales tax, something that is increasingly necessary for businesses today. If you’re a smaller operation, Xoa Tax may work for you, but if your company generates over $1 million in revenue, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Additionally, expenses were consistently miscategorized, and after hiring a new internal bookkeeper, getting even a 30-minute meeting with Xoa Tax has been a challenge. We’ve struggled to get them on the same page with us, despite needing clarity on what has been done. Their lack of communication and unwillingness to engage with my new internal book keeper has left me frustrated and with little support.

they seem to be impersonal unorganized and too many hoops. go here go there so this do that.cant even do a simple meet up appt.. i dont trust this one bit.the lazy way with these so called accountants. apps and portals and zoom nonsense. when are people going to get it. these are not real accountants. send the returns out to someone else to do and or sitting around for a week, why? have no good feedback here. would not use them.
