I would always get good experience, but only if the manager was working there, her name was Brenda. Don’t even bother getting a loan anymore because she has retired. She would find the best outcome for both parties and make it happen but that was because her full range of experience. That’s gone. Have a good retirement Brenda you deserve it for sure. You helped me get my first car loan and almost finished with my second car loan. Was hoping to get help one more time.

this is about the bank itself not the branch.

I lived in LA 10 years and banked with them all 10 and still do bank with them and they are possibly the worst. Here’s why

•Customer service is mid because it’s the company not the employees!
•You can never get through to anyone but the overflow line and they can do anything for you
•they don’t resolve issues in a timely manner most times I have to call 3 /4 times in a day to hold them accountable
•most credit unions don’t coop with them even when i lived in LA and the bank was closed i was SOL
• lastly their hours are bad because most people work 9-5 m-f and that’s the ONLY time they are open

They need to hire/train better people. I’m sure there are a few decent ones out there, but overall, the experience has been disappointing:

Had one guy make me wait over an hour for appointment. He was taking his sweet time during his hour+ break and walked in slowly forgetting that someone was waiting and nobody was at his desk that entire time I was waiting. I had to sign in AGAIN with the same info, because apparently, their system is broken. That was for one in-person meeting.

It took how many people to answer my questions? Either they’re not transparent or they don’t know what they’re doing—either way, not a good look for someone who handles our finances.

And when I had in writing I didn’t want to continue with a loan, the same guy emailed me again a few days later. Do you guys not check your notes? If your members are people from USC, a prestigious school or one where you have to have some brain to even make it here, then it helps if the people you hire aren’t dumb or incompetent.

Calling customer service is embarrassing (associated with my alma mater), the people are terrific, but have no knowledge - will send you on a wild goose chase every time. Will tie you up on hold for 30 minutes, walk you through a procedure, next day, you get an Email saying what you did (with their customer service rep) didn't work. It breaks my heart to be closing my accounts today.

One of the worst credit unions ever. Extremely long wait times, the overflow call center located in texas has limited access so there is no point in calling when the only ones that can help you is the Branch. Dont choose USC credit union for your banking needs you will regret it.

They used to be very friendly, and courteous a few years ago. I was there yesterday. I did not see the person behind the line, but the other person was to busy talking to a security guard, and acted like I was bothering her, when I came in to make a deposit. I am presuming this happened because there was not a manager on site. I will be going there more often in the future. I do hope it gets better. I have had nothing but good experiences from the reps I have spoken to on the phone.

We applied for an auto loan online and were automatically assigned a Loan officer but we were having trouble reaching him. I walked in to the credit union to get some help and Karla helped my husband and I. She jumped right in and helped us out getting our loan processed and approved within the day. Karla was knowledgable, friendly and explained everything to us in great detail. We are so happy with the service provided by Karla.
