We had a great experience with Tri-State Accounting! My husband and I are both entrepreneurs and Deepak and Usha were easily able to help us get the most deductions we could. Even with the best intentions, we didn't get all our paperwork to them until the second week in April - and they very nicely and efficiently got our taxes done before the 15th 🙂 I recommend them highly and will continue to use Tri-State as our businesses grow!

The experience I had with Usha Aggarwal in filing my 2022 taxes was the absolute worst experience. Emails went unanswered for weeks at a time. When she would finally respond, she would ask for things that had already been repeatedly provided to her. She filed the taxes for my non-profit late, and only after I emailed her SEVERAL times indicating that I had already provided her with my tax information and asking for her to provide me with a specific list of what additional information she needed in order to file. She never told me what needed to be done in order to effect a name change on my non-profit which I specifically asked her several times. And then, after literally failing to do her job, charges $550. I will never use her again. Just terrible.

Unfortunately, there were tons of problems with my experience with Usha, the tax preparer who was assigned to me. She incorrectly told me that my employer did not withhold any state taxes for 2022, when that was not the case. The preparer failed to read the W-2 correctly indicating that state taxes were withheld, and very seriously financially inconvenienced me as I ended up paying hundreds of dollars in state taxes that were not actually due, and had to wait weeks to have the refund check received. Also, my preparer told me that the refund would be received as an ACH to my bank account, when in fact the state of Ohio never received my ACH information and so I had to wait much longer to receive a check. I was offered a partial refund of $50 for the inconvenience, which I was told would also be direct deposited, and I had to keep calling the front desk because my preparer stopped responding to my follow-up inquiries via email, but then when after 6 days I still had not received the $50 partial refund promised, I was told without explanation that I would have to come in to pick up the partial refund as a check.

Very unprofessional and incompetent. If you can't read a PDF of a W-2 form correctly, and insist to me that it doesn't show any state taxes were withheld even when I indicate that I don't believe that that is the case, and insist you are correct, when you are not, as per the W-2 and confirmed by my employer, maybe you shouldn't be in the tax preparing business anymore. Not sure how there are so many positive reviews; at least the other recent reviewer Melissa is honest.
