I like my 28 ft bumper pull RPM trailer for the most part but some components went out pretty quickly, like lights and heater. When I called and left a message about warranty on the lights I got no reply.

The upper half of my LQ gooseneck is tearing off and Jon Reeder is doing nothing about fixing the problem hoping I'll just go away, I'm trying to get a class action suit against trails west. ItsI time to talk to the TV news and file a complaint with the FTC and DA Read the reviews before you get ripped off. All he has to do is replace the trailer with a new one but If we go to court the cost of replacing all the bad trailers will bankrupt his company. He knows his trailers are unsafe and does not care about you, he just wants your money.

If I could give a big fat 0 I would. Here is my painful story:

Ours is a 28’ 2014 Trails West RPM Gooseneck trailer with the heated floors and all the “stuff.” We bought it and were in LOVE with it and used it all last season. It was awesome! We were able to haul five sleds or 2 razors easily with plenty of room and nice options – the heated floors were fantastic!

We wanted to put a fuel cell under it, so we crawled under about a month ago to measure and see if we could fit something in between the cross members. While under there, I noticed a crack on one end of one of the cross members! I couldn’t believe it. Then, as we looked further, we found that ALL FIVE of the cross members that are in the area where the floor goes up and over the axles are cracked on BOTH ENDS! One side has multiple cross members cracked all the way through.

We called Trails West to see what they could do to help us out since there is no reason beams like that should crack. They never called us back, so we had to call a second time. They told us since we were the second owner, they wouldn’t do anything. The warranty only extends to the first owner. Of course, they “have never heard of this” in one of their trailers.

As a business owner in the snowmobile industry, if I had someone call me with an issue “I have never seen before” I would do everything I could to ensure it wasn’t our manufacturing process that caused the issue instead of completely dismissing them. And, I would do everything possible to make that customer happy again.

So now, we have a $25,000 paperweight – at least until we figure out how to tear it apart and replace the cross members ourselves.

We think the issue will probably only show in the trailers with the heated floors. We suspect it will come down to the way that the cross members were cut to put in the heated floor. We can’t see until we tear it apart, but we also suspect that the cuts put in were square, which means that the cracks occurred at the corners of the square cuts. We will be removing the the spray in foam to see what’s up and, I guess, we are on our own to make the expensive and time consuming repair of replacing those defective cross beams.

The cracks are uniform across all of the beams on the raised section of floor inside. This type of breakage does not happen due to an "overloading" issue as they eluded to in our phone conversation with them. This is a MANUFACTURING DEFECT and they hide behind their second owner not covered policy instead of doing what a great company does and fixing the issue.

Their website says, "In the eyes of those who own our trailers, we want to be recognized as having provided a quality, user-friendly product, which provides years of trouble-free service. We consider every owner of our trailers a member of our sales force and treat them as such." Apparently they DO NOT PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH!

If you own one of these trailers, I recommend you check yours. If you are the first owner, congratulations! I hope they help you out and not completely dismiss you like they did us.

Steer clear of this company and their trailers.

I love our Trails West trailer! We live on the road all Winter, and this is our garage away from home. It is so easy to thaw out all of our sleds in between rides every night, and dry out all of our gear. It is also like having a heated locker room when everyone is gearing up, or coming back frozen in the dark from a long ride. Thanks for making a trailer like this!

I’ve been really impressed with these guys. I had a couple of issues with my trailer. I contacted them and they were awesome about getting me in and getting it fixed. I just got it back tonight and am super happy with the repairs. It’s not always about if you have an issue or not, it’s about how they handle the issue and these guys did great.

I highly recommend staying away from Trails West. My mom has a 2016 4 horse adventure gooseneck that is only 3 years old and it’s literally falling apart. The tack door and back door are starting to separate as well as having a faulty brake system! We contacted Trails West to let them know about the faulty brake away switch to see if they would cover it. They proceeded to tell me that the highly reputable company that looked at it was clueless and didn’t know what they were talking about. They basically told me to kick rocks and figure it out on my own because they aren’t going to do anything.

Love my trailer, it has a 1 year warranty, if you take care of it and maintain it properly, it will last a lifetime.
