Great with numbers, poor with communication. I was a client with Trail for three years and never had any problems; they were always on time, focused with their services, professional, and I learned a lot from them as a small business owner. They did my taxes for the year 2023 and when I went to sell my business in early 2024, I went to them to make sure everything was prepared for the sale. They quoted me a price for services higher than anything they had ever charged me before and when I inquired about the cost, I received a really snippy email about how my books (that they had just done a few months back and had been helping me with for the past three years) were "a complete mess," that they had high standards for business sales and if their price was too high then I should go somewhere else. I'm not sure if I just caught someone on a bad day or what, but this email sort of blew me away with the lack of empathy or professionalism. Lo and behold, there are hundreds of other very qualified accountants out there so I proceeded with a different one with zero issues, more personal customer service, and a smaller price tag. Maybe Trail CPA is the right choice for you, but I ended up being grateful we parted ways.
