If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would! I lived in this apartment for a year. Moved in and had MANY issues with the apartment. NOTHING ever got fixed, you can call and leave a message but they never call back. Was ready to move out 3 months in because I knew I made a huge mistake moving to British wood’s apartments in Lenoir. Took them weeks to deliver a stove that a mouse ate through the wiring and then proceeded to tell me that I must have a rodent problem, when I JUST moved in. Was without a stove and over for 2 weeks. The stovetop I couldn’t use because it electrocuted me every time I touched my pan. There was a hole in the bath tub that they refused to fix, the sink leaked water on top of the sink. They paint cabinets and say they are remodeled. Patched holes prior to me and charged me for “damages” that were already there. A hole in the screen that I asked to be fixed prior to moving in, which they agreed, NEVER HAPPENED. They always made excuses as to why nothing got fixed. They paint over mold and then try to blame you for the damages. I wish I would have met my neighbors prior to hear their horror stories! This place contains mold!!! In multiple apartments! My one neighbors moved out and all they did was paint over the mold. This place is a joke. They allowed an elderly woman to live in roaches, mold, and left her ceiling to continue to fall in her bathtub. I have added as many pictures that I could. Please save yourself the stress and trouble it’s sad that even someone who never met me dropping off rent had to agree that this place is a joke!!!! If they actually took the time to care about these apartments as much as they care about clapping back at other people with their negative reviews, then they would actually be decent apartments.

I only applied to live in one of their properties. I emailed them several times and did NOT get a response from the property manager. They told me I needed employment before they would consider me. I have guaranteed income every month. In other words they didn’t bother reading the application or looking at all the information I sent them. It’s disappointing. They did keep the 50.00 application fee! They called later this day to let me know my application was not run and to please come get the money order since they didn’t use it.

I know there appears to be a lot of negative reviews about Thornburg & Associates, but I am here to state that that is not the case with us. I can only say good things about this property management company. I just found out today that they are no longer the property management for the townhouse we rent so I thought I would leave a review. Carol, John and everyone there has always been a nice and polite and respectful to me. We had only two real issues during the time that they managed the property, and Carol had them resolved promptly and efficiently. Saying good bye to such a great group is hard for me. I wish them all the best.

I was a good tenant and paid my rent on time for 3 years. Was given a 30 day notice because the house was “sold”. Definitely not the case. They moved another family in the home(renting). Didn’t even tell me that they had other properties available. I had to call and ask but was no longer interested. I was treated poorly and unfair. I will never recommend or rent from these people again

Told them I made 3x the monthly income but not 4x. Told them I had 1 year worth of rent. They were not willing to work with me because I didn't make the 4x monthly income despite telling them I had just paid off a truck and paid on other vehicles and because I didn't have landlord references. Would not recommend renting with this company.

0 starts if possible. Donna Thornburg is THE MOST unprofessional, rude, condescending person I have EVER spoken with.Donnas sheer lack for professionalism and accountability
is shocking. They allow people to come to your rental with 0 notice, no phone call, no email, no letter, nothing!!! You are a SORRY excuse of a business woman Donna Thornburg. Your reviews speak for themselves, do better! Warning people of Hickory and surrounding- DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE ALL THEY DO IS TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!!! Zero tenant respect!

How exactly do you “manage” a property but yet don’t know when there is a scheduled service? You have a contract with the home owner as well for these things. No one knocked,I would have heard , I have kids that would have heard and a small dog who would have barked , also there is a doorbell on the front and side door that were not used by the service man either. And please forgive me for being upset that a strange man saw my BREAST through a window he was looking in while “working” because I was unaware that I could not dress as I pleased in my rental for fear of strangers “servicing” it. And yes, let’s please improve communication , I shouldn’t have to block my number for my phone calls to be answered, or hung up on because you can’t handle being called out for not doing your job. Instead we will go back and forth on here because you can’t just admit being wrong. Clearly all these reviews speak for themselves, you don’t have a response for most of them though.

Very disappointed. I called Thornburg & Associates to rent a 4 bed house with my spouse and 3 other young adults. They are a joke. They told me they don’t rent with more than 2 adults in one house. Would never recommend going through Thronburg & Associates. Very disappointing.
