We stayed here recently for 2 nights so my husband could play golf here and at spyglass and Spanish bay. So from a golfers perspective (husband) it was a trip of a lifetime and it was worth every penny. From my perspective (non golfer) it was like many other golf hotels we have stayed in (much cheaper) and given the cost I was surprised it wasn't more 'posh'. The room was 5* very large and the staff are lovely and the customer service was excellent, but it was just a golf hotel at the end of the day. We were there while the construction was on going and it didn't disturb us in any way. Breakfast is not included in the cost, and everything is expensive but as long as you know that in advance then it is what it is, expensive. Everyone we met was here for the golf, so expect to be surrounded by golfers. I think when the lodge is re opened it will be a little more of a special experience, having the lodge out of action was a shame, so if you have the choice go after the re opening. We did have a lovely time, and my husband enjoyed it very much, but leave your best dresses at home ladies as golf attire is the order of the day. We went for an upgraded room, but in high sight the cheapest room would have been fine. If you want souvenir's or golf clothing they have an outlet store near the aquarium in Monterey which is much cheaper.

Stayed in a standard room on the left side of the first fairway, first floor. The room was superior in every way, reflective of the price. Unlike some others, full room cleaning and turn down every day. Lots of sitting area including a patio. Pillows, towels, sheets, everything wonderful. Snacks and water bottles aplenty and included. Short walk to the Pebble shops and the restaurants in the Lodge, not to mention the first tee, makes this very convenient. Played Spyglass twice, a 5 minute drive or van ride and the great Pebble driving range is 2 minutes away. Loved dinner at the Tap Room, The Bench not so much. Also enjoyed the bag pipes at Spanish Bay and dinner at Sticks (very casual in the clubhouse).

Here’s a great review for you:

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with an elegant yet relaxed vibe that immediately made me feel at home. The staff was incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, offering suggestions and ensuring every aspect of my meal was perfect.

Now, let’s talk about the food — absolutely outstanding! I’ve tried countless soups in my life, but this was, hands down, the best one I’ve ever had. The flavors were incredibly rich and well-balanced, with each ingredient shining through without overpowering the others. The texture was perfect, and every spoonful was like a warm, comforting embrace. It was clear that the chef put a lot of thought, skill, and passion into creating such a delicious dish.

The rest of the meal didn’t disappoint either. Every course was beautifully presented, and the flavors were simply divine. You could tell that only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients were used. Each bite was a delightful journey for my taste buds, with unexpected flavors and textures coming together in perfect harmony.

Overall, this is a place I would recommend to anyone who appreciates fine food. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every detail, from the food to the service, is executed so perfectly. I can’t wait to return and try more dishes from the menu.

Meh. The view is stunning, the hotel rooms themselves are not. Plain, uninspired, no real luxury to speak of in terms of the decor or fixtures.||Restaurants like Tap Room, The Bench, Stillwater Cove have menus that haven't been updated completely in years, mediocre quality food, (michelin quality cooking and baking it is not) and incredibly high prices. |The value simply isn't there. ||Beware - there is construction expected at the various restaurants between Feb to Nov 2025 . It maybe even go past that projected November date, as when is a construction project ever finished on time?||Expect that noise around those various areas disturbing your sleep or waking you or distracting from what should otherwise have been a quiet morning on vacation in your expensive hotel room. |Think numerous vehicles and construction related equipment starting at about 7:00 a.m. after they let them through the gates and they are around the entire Lodge area, the stinky smell of gas and diesel exhaust, and loud beeping noises when they back up.||Then starting at 8:00 a.m. expect the loud noise of construction demo and rebuild until possibly 6:00 p.m at night. |Noise also travels, so even if your room isn't immediately adjacent, you may very well be disturbed with the noise as well as any possible dust/dirt in some areas near where they are working. ||The Lodge prices are unlikely to come down to mitigate for this inconvenience, so just be aware you're going to pay a lot to be in the midst of a construction area.

My husband and I are keen golfers and, having visited 9 years ago and played at Pebble while staying at Spanish Bay, we were really keen to revisit and go to the Lodge this time. ||It was our belated honeymoon and also our anniversary, so we weren't looking at the bills (so other reviews about costs may be valid but since we had booked a long trip to California via an agent with only 4 nights at Pebble, we can obviously see the website prices for ourselves, but the cost wasn't really a factor). They did us a nice cake for our anniversary dinner in Stillwater.||I would say, that if you are a keen golfer, pay for an Ocean view room and also read the more negative reviews about being dated, no real high-end dining and some louder groups. You will love it if you visit with those slightly lower expectations in mind! ||Where to pitch it? It is absolutely NOT (say) a Gleneagles - so don't go expecting it to be and you will be fine!||Rooms: we booked Ocean View (not Sloat) and the room was not at all as dated as we were expecting. Lovely large room, great facilities, really clean, lovely large bathroom, free soft drinks and snacks (refilled each day) in the minibar. We were top floor, so it was also nice and quiet. Parking immediately outside - no complaints from us!||Food and drink: Dining options are all more casual than you might expect, but that was fine for us. We LOVED the food in the Bench (but agree with the comments about it being loud, especially indoors). Stillwater was nice but you would expect it to be the resort high-end restaurant and it isn't really that. Lovely lounge. We really didn't like the Tap Room - I guess it's trying to resemble an English pub or something As a Brit, I would say that it got the dinginess, but missed the character... v dark and low ceilings, with no view. Perhaps it's nice in winter but we had been booked to eat there and switched to the Bench. There is also a lovely Mexican at the Hay - worth a visit. The Hay (9-hole, par 3 with fun "Himalaya-style" putting green) was fab - we didn't really know about it before we visited so had not booked to play it. We will do next time. ||Golf: Well, what do you expect? FIVE STAR all round, obvs!||Beach club: a little dated, but we ate a nice lunch with marvellous views in the restaurant one day so were happy with that. Sadly too cold to use the facilities this time.||Spa: A real surprise! Loved it! Had a great couple's massage and also got to use the spa facilities. They have a joint quiet room and conservatory but otherwise the facilities are separate (part of the changing rooms). They are great, I thought and felt pretty new and up to date. We should have left ourselves more time to spend there.||On crowds - yes, it can be busy with the types of golf crowds you might expect - and yes people can be loud in their groups (but we didn't find it too bad and it was all good natured - loud chatting and laughing rather than anything more disruptive). The type of noise that gets us is loud kids - sorry, parents! - and there was none of that at all, so it suited us perfectly!||So, in summary, while we loved it, we went with the right expectations and weren't paying attention to the cost. I would say that some of the more negative reviews can be valid, so if they are saying things that you think would really bother you, do take note. That said, if you are golfers and want to stay and play, you will LOVE it and, like us, can't wait to come again!

The Lodge at Pebble Beach is also pretty nice, but I prefer Spanish Bay side over here due to the fact that sunset cannot be seen from this side.
