The small nine is quick to play!
Great for short game practice - not much too it. Great greens and cool view. It was cool to play each hole after reviewing the story online and why they choose each hole. You finish off with a video shot at hole 9 scanning a QR code. Loved being out there experiencing the history and stories.

There is something deceptively innocent about The Hay. Nine holes, each modest in length, unfold like a haiku about impermanence. At first glance, one could mistake it for a children's game — a light diversion beside the great, mythic sibling of Pebble Beach. But this is wrong.

The Hay is not a lesser course. It is a distillation. A meditation. Here, stripped of distance and spectacle, the golfer confronts the essence of the game — the terrifying demand for precision, and the quiet joy of fleeting success.

To land a ball softly on the green from 60 yards is to experience a miracle in miniature. The course does not shout. It whispers. And in that whisper, I hear something profound — that in the small, there is still the infinite.

Families come here. Children swing wildly, unaware of failure. Lovers laugh under the cypress trees. The old walk with careful steps, remembering. It is, perhaps, the only place in the world of golf where the burden of performance gives way to the play of being.

There is beauty in this simplicity. Not the sublime terror of vast mountains or deep jungles, but the kind found in a pebble, smooth and warm in your palm. You hold it, briefly, and let it go.

The Hay is not about conquering. It is about presence. And for a moment — a shot, a breath, a shared smile — that is enough.

Five stars. (For allowing children to play the game for free)

p.s. book a tee time through the office to avoid the 17 mile drive toll.

Would give our server a “0” if possible. We were treated badly . Had to ask for help through out our time here. Not sure if was because we were from town or if it was what we looked like. I do not recommend this place. Btw, I look pretty good.

This was a great addition to the Pebble Beach resort. It takes about 60-90 minutes to play this short course which includes a replica of the famous #7 hole at PBGL. Designed by Tiger Woods this is a fun par 3 experience. The restaurant attached to the course has tremendous Mexican food and margaritas as well. A good spot to hang out pre or post round. Lastly, if you don’t have time to get a whole round in there is a MASSIVE putting complex open to the public fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Challenging little Par 3 short course with some amazing views. The greens were a bit more of a challenge than I anticipated, but like the rest of Pebble Beach area, the small course was pristine.

It's a neat little treat playing a short course that was redone by Tiger a few years back.

It is a good fun all par three course for family and friends. I appreciate that the course is accommodating when a group of people would like to stick together.

The putting green is huge and fun. Just play around the putting green could be a good way to kill time if someone never plays the golf before

The fee seems high with additional entrance fees to the pebble beach neighbourhood. This is in the prestigious pebble beach area with scenic nature. We saw deers on the way to the golf course. It worth it

Amazing! If you want to come golf with the family definitely come here. You can easily play this course no matter what skill level you are. It is a little pricey though.

The Hay is fun and we like the new layout. But, a par 3 course with all the holes under 100 yards should have more realistic greens. Having upper and lower tiers or multiple levels is fine but the greens are laid out like a miniature golf course. Having to putt through or out of river like valleys and holes at the top of a plateau like a volcano take away from what would have been a very nice update.

Having a ball land within 3 feet of hole and due to severe slopes it rolls back off the green is lame for a par 3 course.

Maybe putting in a windmill will provide more info on what to expect on the greens.

5 stars on the layout and view, 0 stars on the greens.
