I was referred to Mary for my house search by my sister who had a very positive experience in her own home buying journey. Off the bat, Mary was eager to understand my needs, specific things I wanted in my new home and the backdrop in terms of members of the household, etc. She took her time in understanding my design aesthetic and set expectations based on my price point and needs, but also she was really interested in what I envisioned for my family needs (one level home for aging parent, need to keep kids schools same post divorce and need for access to good high school). Mary was very organized in only showing me homes which came close to meeting my requirements which I appreciated as a busy, working mother. She was very knowledgeable about the local market, estimating the selling price for the homes we saw. She really did an amazing job in pointing out floor plan / other issues which could impact my decision making based on requirements and guided me about the extent of short term remodeling I could expect to do versus longer term projects I could take to improve resale value of the home. Mary Hawley did an excellent job renovating and preparing my late parent's home to sell. My parents bought the home new in 1950! She presented plans and costs for selling it as it was (not updated at all) and investing in renovating and updating. I decided to update, and it turned out to be the best decision. Mary Hawley was recommended to me as an experienced real estate professional. From our first meeting, it was clear that she had what it would take to sell our mother's house. She came to that first meeting, already well informed about the neighborhood and recent, comparable sales. She was informed and knowledgeable about what steps we might take to maximize the home's value in the marketplace. Our goal was to sell the house quickly. She understood the market and explained viable options as to how to get the house sold. She immediately engaged her network of professionals to make that happen for us.
