DONāT TRUST TCG!!
Stayed with tcg going on 5 years as a tenant. We have had many problems with management over the years but now they have gone too far. We havenāt had an annual maintenance check in years. They said they would schedule a day but never did and never showed up. Went 1 1/2 years with broken concrete steps on my front porch. After asking for them to be fixed. My brother and daughter were both hurt by those stairs. I had to drive up in anger for them to come finally fix them. Also a hole in the back porch that has also been pointed out to maintenance and hasnāt been fixed. Fence broke from a storm that came through when we first moved in that they finally fixed it 4 years later. Same storm had a WINDOW fall out that still hasnāt been fixed 4 years later. Just left the WINDOW in my garage and never returned.
Finally TCG had maintenance come check for a water leak because our water bill was much higher than usual. We find out our basement is flooded in sewage from pressure cap blowing off. Repair man comes and does a quick fix and tells us he needs to put a camera down because he thinks it might be clogged further down but then we never hear back from anyone. Week later my cellar doors are still unlocked and sewage is still all over basement floor.
We decided to leave because the smell gets really bad at times and Itās all directly under our kitchen so all the smell and bio sewage fumes all around me when Iām cooking. My 2 kids should never have to deal with this. Their health is far more important.
I went to pay rent and complained to Nathan and after he admitted that they dropped the ball and apologized for everything. For the first time was proud of TCG because in 5 years they admitted they were wrong. I asked him if I need to still pay given the safety and bio hazard concerns and he responded with unfortunately YES IF I WANT MY DEPOSIT I would need to finish the 30 day notice. So weāre now forced between keeping children in unhealthy environment or give up my double deposit. We decided I would pay half rent and pay the rest the following month so we can hurry up and get our kids to a safer place and the VERY NEXT DAY they sent me a 5 day pay or quit notice with a late fee.
I called to talk to manager and she needed to confirm the story with Nathan and of course she comes back with crazy non sense story about me saying that I would pay online. Reminded me of my children trying to come up with a lie. Then wouldnāt go back to what we originally agreed. Then just just quit talking. I was talking to a wall through a phone. Extremely unprofessional. Treated me like Iām not the guy thatās paid them over $100,000 over the past 5 years.
First off, why would I say Iād pay online when TCG blocked that option for me and has since forced me to pay with money orders.
Secondly, nevertheless I had my full rent in my hand in 2 money orders ready to pay. I even said if it will hurt me I would rather just pay all rent now but if you are seriously willing to work with me it would not be a problem because we just want our kids out. And in good faith I payed over half. Itās simple good morals that they extremely lack. I shouldnāt have to pay for house that I canāt even eat, sleep, etc. Iāve spent thousands of dollars over the years to this company for them to mistreat me every time there is a problem and consistently neglect my family. At this point I have no faith that I will ever see my double deposit just based on the slimy lies and attitudes.
For home owners I would trust a blind man watching over my house before ever giving TCG the chance. TCG is the type of people that will argue youāre wrong till thereāre blue in the face, force you to live in pain and suffering. Then turn around and take every penny they can from you.
I was warned many times how corrupt they were before moving in by so many people that live in Ottawa but I gave TCG the benefit of the doubt and now I'm wasting my time leaving a review and pursuing a civil lawsuit.
