I have been trying to close my account for 3 weeks. I have called them 5 times without success, the representatives that answer are not able to help or transfer you to someone that can, they just promise a call back that never happens. Avoid if you ever expect to need customer service.

I've been privileged to work with Lesiele Lotoaniu at Stanford Federal Credit Union in Redwood City. What an absolute joy! She's professional, kind, and goes beyond! The type of service offered by her is refreshing. She is a banker who cares and she has fantastic follow through. A rare treat in this day and age! Update: The last two months I have seen great improvement in the customer service provided by the staff. Everyone greets us now, and has pleasant conversations with customers. The co-op service was working today and I was offered complimentary coffee or tea. Thank you for taking critical reviews to heart and making changes - it is greatly appreciated! Review from 5/2023 - (Stood in line for 20 minutes before being "waved at" to step up to the teller window. One teller and 2 representatives were working. All had one customer. One other customer was in line ahead of me. Not one SFCU employee greeted us, said "thank you for waiting" or "I'll be with you as soon as possible". No acknowledgement whatsoever, which is unacceptable customer service. They also have problems with the co-op service between other credit unions. It literally is only working 50%, or less, of the time whenever I stop in each month to make a deposit. Unfortunately, there is no other local participating credit union or I would have changed years ago.)
