Harassed by Lillian Tam who: made fun of my address and where I live, mailed important documents to the wrong address, and then spelled my name wrong so that I had to call to correct it. I'm receiving sensitive documents at the wrong address after I made it clear -- I did NOT want mail at that address! On top of this, I've been denied a credit card even though I have enough savings to put a down-payment on a house. I have perfect credit (over 800) and have never been denied a credit card before. SF Fire Credit Union has lost my business, I'll go someplace else and be treated much better.

About to pull my money from this bank. The debit card gets shut down by their fraud department almost anytime I try and use it in my own city. To make things worse, getting someone on the phone to help you sort it out is nearly impossible. I called their fraud department and it went straight to voicemail. Expect to wait on the phone forever. Do not bank here, it's terrible.

Online banking is superb, not as clattered as other banks, therefore allowing to fulfill common actions with no hassle.

When reaching out to customer support, be prepared to answer some questions that may be a distant past. Like the make and model on a car loan from 10+ yrs ago.

Withdrawing from ATM may be difficult for the reason of false-positive fraud alerts. I got debit card blocked after trying to withdraw a relatively small sum (100) from an ATM. Only learned of the block a month later, when tried to use the card in a store. This comes as a surprise - I don't do anything special with the card. They seem to have a security department with no concern for actions hurting the core business. My only advise is to keep a bigger amount of cash at home.

Unfortunately this place went down hill over the years - I've been with them for nearly 15. It's nearly impossible to get help over the phone (they simply don't pick up) and their online help is useless. It didn't used to be this way but I'm now going to switch banks.

I’ve been with this bank for about 15 years. Online is still pretty good but can be difficult to connect with some money transfer apps. In bank can be difficult as it seems that they’ve drastically cut back the staff and waits to see someone in person can be much longer than they used to be. That being said I’d rather back with SF Fire Credit Union than the major banks. It’s a much better option.

They position themselves as an opposite from big banks , friendlier and willing to make it right but as a matter of fact their checking account fees are enormous and is among the worst I have ever seen even compared to the big banks.

People rarely visit the insides of their bank or credit union anymore. Wait times rarely exceed 5 minutes to find a free teller. Safer than pulling cash out of an ATM during g business hours.

I have been banking with SFFCU for six years, and since the very first week I have been disappointed with their "customer support". Questions are rarely answered fully, and it always takes multiple weeks to resolve any issues. Any concerns I have require dozens of messages before receiving the support needed. I honestly don't see the difference between this credit union and the soulless, profit driven big banks I wanted to sever ties with. Now that I live abroad, resolving any issues with SFFCU is an absolute nightmare. Do not recommend.
