This is a long-overdue review for Ernie, but it's so important to us that we share our experience working with him! My husband and I were looking to purchase our first home together and got pre-approved in December 2019. Even though the market was slower during that time, Ernie still shared listings with us that he thought would be of interest. In January 2020, we found the perfect home, and Ernie made sure it would become ours. He offered excellent insights on placing our offer and made everything so much easier to understand. We were thrilled to hear that our offer was accepted! Ernie also knew that we wanted to make some cosmetic updates to our home before moving in and was able to connect us with all of the right people. We moved in toward the end of February, about three weeks before shelter in place started. We were so thankful to be in our home then, and months later continue to be so happy with how everything worked out. We really appreciate Ernie's dedication to finding us the right home and spending so much time with us to make sure everything was perfect.

Beyond being an excellent realtor, he was also supportive of our family's goals and situation. While seeking the right home, we were expecting our first child that we knew had a life-limiting birth defect. Ernie knew how important it was for us to be settled at home before welcoming our daughter, and supported how emotional of a process this would be for us. He truly held our hand each step of the way. Although our daughter is no longer with us now, we had months of wonderful memories with her together in our home. When we think of those memories in our living room, the backyard, her nursery, and walking around the neighborhood, we feel so much gratitude for our home. Thank you, Ernie, for helping us through one of the most pivotal moments of our lives!

Ernie and Rick changed our lives!
It all started with an off-hand comment by Ernie when he was at our house (in Oakland CA) giving us some free design feedback (“Should we put in a gas fireplace? What color should we paint the fireplace?”). During the visit, Ernie commented on what he thought our house could sell for. I couldn’t believe it, but he was right. Next thing I know we are talking to our financial planner, quitting our jobs and moving out of state to retire!
Okay, that part is unique to us but the rest is Ernie and Rick’s regular forte:
They met with us to plan upgrades to show the house in the best light. We balked at first (Can’t we just sell it “as is”?) but they assured us the improvements would more than pay for themselves. That buyers need to actually see what the house can look like.
We were able to make our move to our new home (1500 miles away) and left the house in their hands. We didn’t have to do a thing! They made design decisions, vetted and hired the service providers, and oversaw the entire process. When we saw the pictures after the improvements (floor, fixtures, interior and exterior painting, etc.), we couldn’t even believe it was our old house. We wanted to move back in, it looked so gorgeous.
Throughout the whole process Ernie and Rick helped calm our nerves, gave us excellent advice and handled what we didn’t have the skills or desire to handle. Oh, and at no extra charge, they had us laughing all the time!
And the bottomline? We had multiple offers and sold the house for substantially more than we had projected to the perfect family!
