I went there when I was 16. Some of the staff were nice but particularly a few were not. Nesia would choose favorites and gossip like a little girl, and would purposefully exclude the others. The staff would have problems with each other, and often time then not, we (the girls) were mishandled. The therapist there were good though!

Positive reviews are mostly fake and from owners friends and relatives. This place is shady and all about getting money. They care more about how things look than how they treat people. I witnessed some very sketchy behavior from male staff related to the owners that I reported multiple times with no change. In fact, one guy got promoted. Makes me sick to think I worked there as long as I did under the new management. Glad I was fired. Also, super glad to hear it is closed if even temporarily. Karma is good. Hope they lost money and it never reopens. 😄 keep an eye out from emoticare/emotihome as they are most likely the new owners to funnel money into their pockets for as long as possible.

I went here from January 2021 to May 2022. If you want your daughter to truly succeed and get better, do not send her here, or to any of these programs. They are all money hungry, unregulated, problem causing programs. Sure you could say I became a "better person". But to become that "better" version, I was gaslit and emotionally abused. If I learned anything, it was how to appear as others want me to. Which is the opposite of what you want. Positive reviews are from parents who have been brainwashed or friends and family of the programs owners. People tend to not believe survivors. But believe these ones in the reviews.

i had left a review fresh out of the program almost 2 years ago and some change and my perspective could not have been any more changed. it was only because of my therapists who denounced the program did i succeed. i was humiliated, degraded and my trust in my parents and value in myself was mangled. multiple of my dearest friends endured horrific abuse as well as worse mistreatment. i am lucky to have expirenced such tame abuse at the hands of this hell hole. watch the program at ivy ridge and water it down a bit, that’s SSA for you. money sucking, manipulative and corrupt as hell.

I was here for like 5 months july- december 2023. Please do not send your kid here. The therapist do not help, some of the staff are nice however some of the staff can be abusive, the food is disgusting and they lie when they say they serve healthy food, only healthy option was a little salad bar. They don’t take u outside the campus, we were supposed to have outings however I would basically never leave the campus unless to go on a drive to Mcdonald’s. If you’re reading this please listen and do not send your child here. I have vivid nightmares every week or every other week about returning here. Genuinely one of the worse experience of my life and did nothing to help me, if anything made my mental health worse while i was there.

My daughter was spiraling downward and we had very few options left. SSA accepted her on short notice. We were hesitant but hopeful, and 6 months later she is home and doing better than I could have imagined. The staff has been amazing; frequent communication and to have the open door policy to visit was such a change from her former RTC. It's only been a few weeks since graduating the program but she is doing well. I am thankful for their work with her and recommend for parents and girls who ate struggling.

Everything went so much better than expected. The family involvement was exactly what we all needed to heal together. Getting help for our daughter was an extremely difficult choice, but the path she was on was taking her deeper and deeper into a self destructive lifestyle. Thank God we got help when we did. thanks to everyone who worked with our family.

The new owners of the Sedona Sky Academy are working hard every day to make a good place great. As a consultant in behavioral health, I know first-hand that they have a caring program, the students look happy, and the facility is nice. The academy is located on a beautiful 28-acre campus near Sedona with equine therapy, a mountain creek that runs through the property, and plenty of outdoor space to play. With onsite school, help with behavioral health, loving staff, and the beauty of nature, this place is a kids dream.
