I was dealing with a very sensitive and urgent personal financial issue and I was greatly assisted in that by the staff and manager, Jenny Ngo-Lee, at the Golden Branch of SFFCU. Both of the tellers I worked with and the assistant manager were very helpful and professional, even though I might have been distracted and fidgety; meanwhile, Ms. Ngo-Lee was able to facilitate the processing of said issue, and a very difficult problem of mine was, it is to be hoped, finally resolved. My thanks to Ms. Ngo-Lee and the staff at SFFCU Golden Gate.

I can honestly say one of the worst banking experiences I’ve ever had. I opened this account only two weeks ago and since then I have had my account frozen twice for ā€œsuspicious activityā€. When I called customer service to find out what the activity was and how to unlock my account no one was able to remove the lock and I was told to call fraud prevention. When I called fraud prevention they said my account wasn’t on hold because of that and they had no case opened. I basically was shuffled back and forth for 2-3 days because no one knew which department could resolve the issue. I was told multiple times that it would get resolved and that someone would call me back. I was never called back by anyone. In the meantime I wasn’t able to access online banking and couldn’t use my debit card. Basically I had no access to my money for 3 days and no response. After having this account opened less than 3 weeks I have to close it now out of frustration and the fact that this has happened twice in two weeks with me not being able to access my money. This bank doesn’t have anyone that can help adequately assist you after hours, just an ā€œoverflowā€ call center that isn’t able to complete most transactions. You will not receive callbacks in a timely manner and if you’re ever in an emergency and need to access your funds quickly, and this bank just decides to ā€œlocksā€ your account and you will be screwed. Most banks will send you text alerts or phone calls if they suspect suspicious activity but SFFCU will just block everything and then you are stuck making phone call after phone call to try and get someone to resolve the issue. Phone representative are nice and try to help, but honestly it seems like none of the departments (general customer service, fraud prevention, card services) seems to know what anyone else does. It seems like all the departments are completely outsourced and none of their systems are actually integrated. Biggest mistake ever leaving my bank for SFFCU!

I have now called twice asking to speak with a loan officer regard ing a home equity loan. Each time I was told that someone would return my call. And yet I've heard from NO ONE. I find this very disappointing particularly given that I've been banking with the credit union for 25 years or more.

just called in to get service for my car note. the lady that helped me was snippy with her ā€œcustomer serviceā€. When read me the disclosure message which I didn’t hear clearly she repeated it in a condescending way. which I couldn’t argue with, because how helpful would she be if I did right. So, with my second request I’ve been having an issue where I couldn’t deposit cash on two occasions. She stated I can go into the branch and see if they could help, maybe the card is not connecting with the transaction, it was just that specific machine that needs service, but other customers haven’t had the issue with depositing. It just didn’t seem helpful and gave more of a ā€œit must just be your card with the problem, and I can’t helpā€.

I have never had a credit union advocate so hard for me when dealing with a car dealership. Giovanni Hernandez went above and beyond to be sure that all my paperwork for my new car loan was accurate with the dealership before driving off. He was quick with his responses to emails and he stayed on top of everything every step of the way. I’m grateful for him and he was a huge blessing for me in this process, the dealership was even impressed at how hard he worked to be sure that everything was accurate. As a woman, he made things that much easier for me and I can’t thank him enough. God bless him and his family 🩷
