My husband and I switched to Robert Hall & Associates for tax assistance after being referred to them, but our experience was disappointing. While filing our returns was straightforward, their support during a tax issue fell far short.

It took a week to receive clarifying questions, despite us providing all necessary data, including proof of IRS payment. They re-asked the same questions in follow-up emails and, even after the tax deadline passed, requested information we had already submitted—showcasing poor organization and attention to detail.

When we voiced frustration, we were met with dismissiveness. One accountant referred to our tax “issue” in quotation marks, highlighting their unprofessional attitude. Despite claiming to help, they ignored our request for a phone call and later claimed we hadn’t provided a receipt submitted on 11/8.

As non-tax experts, we relied on their guidance but received no clear communication or actionable support, leaving us to navigate the issue alone. To whomever reads this at Robert Hall & Associates, we have evidence of submitting all required information and were still left unsupported.

We’ll seek a new team next year—one that values its clients and communicates effectively.

I am writing to express our frustration, dismay, and disappointment with the way Tony Watson and RH & Associates have treated our family and businesses. We have been loyal clients for over 29 years, but unfortunately, recent experiences have left us feeling neglected and undervalued.

To start, we did not receive any auto-email from RH regarding our 2023 tax year scheduling. Upon noticing the issue, we reached out to Tony’s assistant, Kristine Mnatsakanyan, who informed us that we missed the deadline. However, she also suggested we contact Tony directly. We made several attempts—5 to 6 calls to his cell phone—but received no response.

Given our long history with Tony and RH, we were baffled by the lack of communication. We have sent gifts to his family when new borns arrived, listening and watching Tony bring out Rolexes underneath his desk for purchase and listening to him complain about how little he made for the time spent working for RH).Yet, when we finally heard back fromTony after the tax deadline, his response was simply, “sorry, I’m too busy after becoming a partner.”

Since then, we’ve tried every avenue to continue working with RH and Tony. Unfortunately, communication has been nonexistent. We’ve reached out through every available channel, but despite having Tony’s assistant handle his personal email and cell, we have received no follow-up.

It’s important to share this with both future and current clients: even long-term clients like ourselves can be left without a response if, for any reason, an email gets lost or ends up in spam. It’s disheartening to see how a once trusted professional relationship can be disregarded so easily.

We regret having to write this, but we feel it is necessary for those considering RH & Associates to understand the challenges we’ve faced. We hope this serves as a cautionary tale to others, particularly the LBC firefighters who may face the same treatment

Amazing experience this year. Request Jackie Fu, he’s amazing to work with! He took time to understand my situation and really came with a customised solution. Didnt mind my questions and really gave detailed responses. Unlike others I’ve experienced rushing through the process, doing the bare minimum and not even caring to let you ask questions. You won’t be disappointed with this firm. Aside from the great accountant, they have a great support team that’s very responsive and always providing great customer service (shout out to Alton and Victoria!!). I will definitely be a returning customer.
