My wife and I rented from Nate for over 3 years. He was easy to work with, responsive to calls and texts and timely in getting repairs completed. About 2 years into renting, he transitioned management to Halsey Thrasher Harpole management company. At that point, we were assigned property manager Christie Cook. It became very difficult to get a response through call, text or email; either from Christie or anyone at HTH.

We attempted twice to give our vacate notice (45+ Days in advance) to Christie, through a phone call and then an email, and eventually got a response to an email sent to the generic company email address that simply said they do not prorate partial months for move out—it did not provide any move out instructions, key drop location, walk through, etc…

About 30 days out from our vacate date, we still hadn’t gotten any move out instructions, so my wife called Nate directly to get guidance. He instructed her to just leave the keys at the end of the lease and inform CWL we were vacating. She specifically asked about walk through protocol to receive our security deposit back, and he told her not to worry about it.

Once we moved out, new tenants were completely moved in within 2 days. We noticed that CWL had left the house in our account for an additional 7 days beyond our move out date (meaning HTH and the new tenants were delayed in calling to change service over.)

Nate and the property management company became unresponsive on the security deposit. After many voicemails/ texts to both Nate, Christie, HTH email addresses and business phone line, I went up to the main office requested the deposit

60+ days after vacating we were finally able to pick up a check that withheld almost $600 from our deposit. We were not given a bill for damages. When asked, the receptionist noted painting and cleaning fees. We are still in contact with the neighbors, who informed us that no painting, cleaning or repair work had been done.

If you do rent from Halsey Thrasher Harpole or Nate Lipsky, be persistent about end of residency protocols. Insist on a walk through, don’t let up on getting your deposit. Learn from our mistakes.

I am never one to post these things, especially poor reviews, but I will do anything to prevent someone else having to go through what I have experienced with Nate.

I moved out of my rented property April 30th, 2023 and have been fighting to get my rightfully deserved security deposit back from Nate since. He told me the check was mailed out June 5th, and as I write this today I have not received the check. Nate has decided to no longer respond to my professional texts, call, or emails nor attempted to inform me why my return deposit has been withheld (which is a violation of arkansas law). I have written proof from Nate stating “he hasn’t personally seen the house himself, but I trust you and def owe you money girl.” There have also been inappropriate, unsolicited texts received from him stating “meeting you was the highlight of my week”. I felt uncomfortable in his presence when he came to show the home at the end of our lease.

I should’ve been cautious following through with this guy, as in the process of securing our contract, I had a very difficult time paying the security deposit through the portal for an unknown reason. I only discovered the issue when I went to get renters insurance and they informed me that the address he had listed for the house in our lease was incorrect and already owned by another. When I tried to explain to him that I couldn’t make a deposit on a house that wasn’t owned by him he became very disrespectful and threatened to call off our contract because he “owns over 200 properties and this has never happened before.” Overall, do not trust this man with your money.

This was the first time buying a house for my wife and I, and Nate did a great job finding us the perfect house. He also helped negotiate so that we were able to get everything we wanted with the house. If you’re ever looking for someone who will find you exactly what you want, quick to respond, and knows what they are talking about, then Nate is the person to go to.

Nate was very professional, organized and committed to finding us our dream home. He also sold our current homes and we could not be happier with the work he put in to make it happen! We would highly recommend Nate and would love to work with him again in the future.

Nate helped us look for houses for many months. We lived out of state and he would help me research and give me advice about neighborhoods, schools; commute time, etc. He was available every time I called or texted and was totally willing to help. He met us on the fly when we stopped through town and buy appointement. When we decided on a house, Nate went and measured stuff for me just because I was wondering if my furniture would fit. Plus he is just a truly nice guy.

Drove 30 miles to meet for an appointment. Called Nate when i arrived. I was told "an agent will be there in a few minutes" He was supposed to call me back. I never heard from him. I finally got in touch with the actual brokers of the home and found out the house had an accepted offers and multiple back up offers. I have been told he does this quite often. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN.

This guy is a hard-core slumlord. Just shoots applications out to anyone who asks anything... Like 'does the house have an air conditioner'.
Then he will belittle you if you suggest having a conversation before you give him your social security number.
Extreme egomaniac mixed with greed.
A bizarre level of slum lord only found in Arkansas.

This guy is definitely a slum lord I put in a few orders several times when I moved I also put in an order about my thermostat that kept sticking and would take awhile to heat up I also complained several times about my neighbor who kept smoking it was coming through my vents and pipes the smoke was in my clothes my rooms after I complained about my neighbor I guess she was upset started doing things that made me fear for my safety so I moved out I talked with 2 different agents overtime 1 of the agents told I should be able to transfer she told that she would ask Nate he said no he didn't care if anything got fixed he didn't care if I felt safe in my own home but he is supposed to care I paid a $1150 dollar deposit so why couldn't I transfer that's alot of money
