Be careful when engaging the services of Property Tax Advisors. They may lie to you that they are working on your case but in fact they have not. I received a letter Property Tax Advisors and signed up with them last year in January, 2024 to help me challenge the assessed value of my property. In March, I received an email from the LA Assessment Appeals Board about a hearing scheduled for March 14, 2024. I contacted PTA to confirm that they will show up at the March 14 hearing on my behalf and they confirmed. After the hearing date, I did not hear from PTA, so I contacted them again, asking about the status of the hearing. PTA stated how their agent did not have time to prepare for the hearing, and has filed a request to postpone the hearing. They said they should receive a new hearing date soon and that I check back with them. In May, I received a decision letter from Assessment Appeals Board Notice stating how there was a “No Show” to the March 14 hearing. Then, I called the Assessment Appeals Board and they mentioned how there was NO RECORD of PTA even submitting the Authorization of Tax Agent which I signed. In short, PTA never even appeared on my behalf. I called PTA to find out what’s going on, a gentleman mentioned how he would relay the message to the person in charge of my case. That person never called or emailed me back. I revoked my Authorization of Tax Agent on May 29, 2024.

This company is a nightmare to deal with. They verbally claimed they had a contract with us and even placed a claim against us, asking us to show up in court. My poor parents, who didn’t fully understand what they were getting into, felt pressured and ended up paying a $200 fee. Now, they’ve sent another invoice demanding more money, despite having no valid contract with us and showing absolutely no evidence of any work being done.

I have email evidence that this case was closed, yet they continue to harass my parents. Their tactics are predatory, especially targeting older individuals who may not fully grasp what they’re being pressured into. They extort money, attempt to coerce people into false agreements, and even file claims to scare families into paying.

Beware of this company—they use unethical and fraudulent practices to exploit people, particularly the elderly. I’ll be taking further action by seeking legal counsel and reporting them to authorities for these bad business practices. If you value your peace of mind and finances, avoid them at all costs.
