Stay away from this greedy business and their shady cut rate underwriters. I started as a Nationwide customer in 1986, got married had several children, owned several homes and stayed with Nationwide the whole time. Handed Jim Johnson our multipolicy when we relocated to the area in 2007. Same old story, they systematically lost our confidence by raising our premiums over and over, year after year. Several years ago out of frustration we asked them for a better rate and their less than stellar response was to switch us to another underwriter…and then you guessed it…they raised our rates over and over and over. Earlier this year (2025) we were informed that our provider Safeco was going to "non-renew" our homeowners coverage due to algae streaks on our roof. I wish I was joking but you know those dark streaks that virtually all roofs in the Southeastern US have? Safeco nor Jim Johnson Ins could not provide any evidence that roof streaking compromises structural integrity and shingle longevity nor would they prove our policy would be reinstated once we washed the shingles. Enough is enough, we ended the abusive relationship (home and auto) and as a result they short rated us for over $200. Almost worth it to get rid of this organization that constantly thinks of new ways to take advantage of its customers. Our only regret is that we didn't do it sooner. Well done Jim Johnson! Way to lose outstanding lifelong customers.

No, your agency did not provide accurate information throughout the process. The short rate you mentioned, was omitted by your representative when we specifically asked about the refund check we received for the balance on our account. In fact Lori suggested that we must have overpaid, therefore it was a good thing that we got a check for money back, right? It was only after returning to your office and requesting a written statement, not once but twice that we discovered the $200 short rate. If this was legal industry standard, then why try to conceal it? Also, it is dishonest to suggest recommendations were given from Safeco on how to maintain the policy. If they were given, then why didn't we see them? So much for the two way street.
While it is true that all companies raised rates to adjust for inflation how do you explain raising them prior to that? Pushing a false climate narrative while claiming that it is done to maintain the ability of Safeco to pay claims all while making $6.8 billion/yr on average is ridiculous.
Do some research before attempting to cancel your customers homeowners and putting their home ownership at risk. Algae and bacteria are two completely different organisms. In fact, algae feeds on moisture from the air (aka humidity), and organic matter such as pine pollen. Which is why it was incredibly irresponsible to insist that we pay to have our roof professionally washed just prior to pollen season.
We were fine customers yet you have never taken even a minute to talk to us personally. You spent more time on your response to our review than you did trying to maintain our business. Blaming the carriers you choose to work with while "selling to the best of your ability" is no excuse, just low quality service

I've been with Jim Johnson Nationwide Insurance Agency for as long as I can remember. I have my home, multiple vehicles and all of my business insurance needs as well with them. The staff is very knowledgeable about every aspect of home, auto, business, personal liability insurances and so much more. Lori and Linda are a mother daughter team and if you have questions they've got answers. I can't say enough good things about this company. I have had a few mishaps over the years and can honestly say "Nationwide was on my side" and they took care of me start to finish and made sure that things worked smoothly and promptly.
