Do not go here. They will charge you for ridiculous fees. Like….they asked about my mental health then charged me $116. Crazy. When I called asking about the charges I got an extremely sassy office manager telling me they could charge what they wanted and it’s my insurance company who won’t pay for the bogus charges. Understandable insurance won’t pay. Find another doctor’s office.

It always saddens me when a business that once wowed you doesn’t anymore. This is the case for this Mission location.

About two winters ago, I showed up with my child for her appointment. I was told that the doctor we were to see was not there. A cancellation call would have been nice. (For some odd reason, the doctor later admonished me as if I had been the no show.) Sort of the same thing for two springs ago- I called and left a message with a vaccination question. A gentleman called me back and told me that my daughter could be a walk-in for vaccinations. I confirmed the gentleman’s statement. I figured that Mission had some kind of new program for people who desire speedy care and Chick-fil-A before the evening rush. A few months later, I arrived with my kid as a walk-in for a non-existent vaccination clinic. I felt really dumb, and I have no idea what happened. We speedily left.

Usually my calls with the receptionists are very pleasant. However, one is not nice- until you ask for her name, after which she pours on the charm. Impatience with patients should never happen.

But the worst event happened a few weeks ago. My husband felt ill. He knew it was strep throat because he grew up with strep as his internal soulmate. My husband saw Dr. Applebome. His strep test was negative, which is common. He still felt bad, so he went back and saw Dr. Campbell. Dr. Campbell was dismissive and rude to him. The second strep test was positive. Dr. Campbell refused to sign my husband’s worker’s comp form, which can result in termination of one’s job. That fact was definitely stated by the worker’s comp agent. One Mission receptionist was compassionate; the other could have cared less. My husband asked if Dr. Applebome could sign his paperwork, as she was the first provider he saw. They stated that Dr. Applebome was there infrequently. What the…have they ever heard of cars, electronic communication, or those plastic ā€œinā€ and ā€œoutā€ paperwork files? I mean, yeah, the paperwork had a deadline, but if they had just ascertained where Applebome could be found on a certain day, my husband would have gone to where she was if it came to that. In the end, Applebaum somehow showed up at Mission and signed the worker’s comp stuff. It’s not like it’s her workplace or anything. She just loves the lobby acoustics.

Oh, and dissing strep? Well, let’s see…my father had to be hospitalized for many months after strep affected his heart as a kid refugee; my daughter got strep and her kidneys failed. Strep can result in death as well (re: ā€œThe Shock of Strep: Rapid Deaths Due to Group a Streptococcusā€). I told my husband to contest Dr. Campbell’s portion of the bill. He should not have to pay for poor service. I totally do not mind battling Medicredit and letting the federal government know a second time that Medicredit is shady.

This is hands down one of the most impressive medical teams I have had the pleasure of working with. My family Dr McNamara, is the best Dr I've had. She takes her time and actually listens, then goes above and beyond to make sure you get the best care possible. The entire team (that I have met so far) there, from the front desk, to the lab workers, and the imaging staff seems like they truly care about their patients. I can't say enough about the multiple positive experiences my family has had here.

My wife and I have been patients for a few years. Last year our primary doctor left and we got a new primary care doctor but she also left after 5 months. This practice does not care about their patients. We met with a nurse practitioner Julia Lucas and she fabricated unfounded outrageous accusation about us and dropped us as patients leaving us in a bad spot filling our medication. They didn't care that we have been on these medications for over 8 years they just labeled us and dropped us as patients. No one contacted us to ask us about this practioners accusations and when I called to appeal to their sense of decency they didn't seam to want to do anything to help us. My whole life I've always felt doctors were supposed to help people but thanks to Nurse practitioner Julia Lucas and the supervisors at Mission I am very disappointed in the poor ethics they have shown us. I believe if you need quality care from a staff that cares please look elsewhere this place will eventually disappoint you too.

I'm a Very - Very tough man when it comes to Any kind of medical care facility. I want to simply say that these folks are very nice and top notch. If anyone needs this type of care . I can only give them the highest marks I can give.

I had a very positive experience with my Doctor’s appointment at Mission Community Care -Haywood. I have a scheduled appointment for the end of January 2022 but wanted to speak to a Doctor sooner about a pain I was having in my upper chest. Dr. Sylvanus was very thorough in asking medical questions and after listening to my heart reassured me that it wasn’t
Anything to be concerned about. I was very relieved and so happy the nurse at the front desk had scheduled an appointment so quickly.
I would highly recommend this practice.

Dr MacNamara is THE absolute best. Always caring, easy to talk to and very informed. This review is NOT in anyway a reflection on a wonderful physician.
The Mission system for making appointments however is absolutely terrible. They use a central system where they are so officious and totally impersonal. They want you to recite all your prescriptions (which are in your chart), they ask medical questions (which should be confidential between doctor and patient) and they recite numerous checklist questions without just listening to a patients response. No common sense or thinking involved. Robotic and impersonal.
Thank goodness the Portal allows me to message my doctor for help. It's the only place a real person calls me back and listens to my needs.
I realize the medical community is changing but Mission has the most onerous system around especially since new ownership a few years ago.
The buzz in our community is not good of late.

I felt safe and respected. This was my first visit. I recently moved here four months ago. I met my new PCP. He was professional, and I look forward to building a patient/ doctor relationship as I plan on living here in my retirement years. 8/23/2022 I have been trying to find a new physician since my prior PCP moved about eight months ago. I'm told that Mission Health is not accepting new patients. I'm very frustrated! Now no one is even answering the phone! 😔
