Highest quality CPAs in the northwest Chicagoland suburbs in my opinion. I've been going to Jeff to have my taxes done for a few years now and have always had positive experiences. Prices are about the same if I were to do it by myself using software, but I'd rather have the peace of mind working with a qualified tax professional at Miller Verchota.

I started seeing Mary years ago and always had a positive experience with her. Jeff took over and everything has gone downhill. He doesn't return emails or phone calls. I left numerous messages for over 2 weeks re: an important amendment that needed to be completed on my tax return. When I was called to pick up my forms (16 days later), I learned the amendment still wasn't done. I finally spoke to him that evening (again,16 days after leaving messages), and he said he didn't read my email entirely because he gets too many emails. He didn't return my calls because he gets too many phone calls in a day. This is someone who is in charge of filing your taxes and he doesn't read your emails or return your phone calls. He also stated that, because he didn't read my email in full, it was his fault and he would waive the fee for amending the return. I returned to the office the following day and received a stack of paperwork-no instructions, no explanations. The full amendment still wasn't completed. He was extremely defensive and now refused any accountability. He demanded $520 before he would amend anything. I give this business 1 star solely for the receptionist who was so apologetic and understanding every time I spoke to her. Avoid this business.

Awful they do not return calls or emails two years in a row he extended filing my business and personal taxes on day of deadline of the extension! Just left this place. Called for months and no response!! Just awful beware!!

I started out with Mary several years ago. She was great. However, over the last two years, the quality of her work has greatly diminished. She has not been returning phone calls, and emails, and making mistakes in returns. Hopefully, she can get back on track. In the meantime, I would recommend finding another accountant who is responsive and focussed.

Absolutely the best in the business! Always on top of the ever-changing tax laws. I'm notified immediately of any tax change that affects my business. The entire staff is knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Calls and emails are always returned promptly.

I have been going to Miller Verchota for over 15 years. The staff are so professional. As soon as I walk in the door I am greeted with smiles and respect. Mary Miller has been my accountant and I can truly say the experience is first rate. I highly recommend Miller Verchota.

I was a client of Miller Verchota for several years. However, in 2018 they advised me on a Roth IRA conversion. Their miscalculation ended up costing me $20,000 in payments to the IRS on my 2018 federal return. Their daughter and employee Jamie Seda did our taxes. Quite frankly not even sure she is a CPA.

As soon as I questioned them on this egregious error, they told me that I am no longer a client and needed to find another tax firm. This was a few weeks before the IRS deadline of April 15th. I paid Miller Verchota good money for this advice and this is what I received in return. Very poor and neglectful advice. Never again.

I would highly recommend avoiding Miller Verchota for any financial / tax advice or anything else for that matter.
