We stopped by as new people to Sarasota checking out potential areas to live.
We had been looking around for a reasonable place to rent and eventually a home down here.
We have been shocked at the udder disdain towards average home ownership (which was affordable in the past).
When we spoke to agents there, we were treated with an "I don't have time for talk, I have clients to take care of". attitude.
I came back in hopes of discussing possible future developments with someone that had a visionary outlook. Someone that understands changing market conditions.
The present "Business" model of focusing on high end homes is completely unsustainable in the present and future hyperinflation monetary cycle. There will be a market "adjustment" just like in 2008.

I am interested in helping develop a viable sustainable housing style that will provide quality, safe homes for many people, not just an elite few.
I will continue to look for that match for our ideas.

The greed model only works for so long, then the markets adjust... Usually with a vengeance.

Years ago I worked for Lexus. We had a training event that spoke directly to how to be careful NOT to place any judgement on the appearance of someone looking at a vehicle to purchase.
We learned that no matter what someone's appearance, we should NEVER prejudge them as NOT being a potential client... Today or in the future.

My wife and I wanted to write a few words about our experience with Michael Saunders & Company. My son’s friend had been looking at properties in Sarasota and referred us to Barbara May. We were coming to visit on short notice and wanted to evaluate a list of prospective properties. Barbara was terrific, she added some great suggestions to our list, but told us she had a prior commitment and would not be able to assist us. She referred us to her co-worker Larry Zeigler.

Larry reviewed our list and had everything ready for viewing over an extended weekend. He drove us to every property and pointed out the pros and cons of each. He understood exactly what we were looking for and was informative on everything Sarasota has to offer, including the ballet, theater, music, parks, climate, peak tourist times, and local government. When it came down to our final choice, Larry prepared a reasonable offer and negotiated a great price.

Once our offer was accepted and we returned to Chicago, Larry took care of everything necessary to close on the property. He was there for inspections, connected us with a great attorney, answered every email or phone message within minutes, and made the entire process painless. We were not buying a million dollar property, but he treated us like million dollar customers.

I would not hesitate to recommend Larry Zeigler, Barbara May and Michael Saunders & Co. for helping to make our Sarasota dream come true.

Susan Goldstein was otherwise unresponsive to my quest to rent a commercial property that MS&C was representing. I am reporting MS&C to the better business bureau and Florida Real Estate Commission. I remember Michael Saunders as being a well respected and competent professional. Boy how times have changed, as per my experience with Susan was neither.

Update: They never replied by email or returned my calls. This company is horrible. I am going to have to send a complaint into the better business bureau. Then I will set up a table in front of the Main Street office and hand out fliers with pictures of Michael Saunders, Barbara Dumbaugh, and Victoria Lear with an explanation of what they did by offloading Barbaras friends house that I have spent thousands on to clean up and repair all the problems Barbara and her friends tried to hide. If you are smart you will do business with anyone else but this company. Nice to see Michael enjoying cooking with her grandkids in her nice kitchen on her Facebook page but everyone else can eat dirt, right Michael? Michael seems to think she is untouchable with her clean house for me but not for thee type mindset.

Review: A bunch of snakes work here. Stay away from Barbara Dumbaugh. She is a liar and has not a care in the world if she places a family with a two year old in her friends old and moldy house. Michael Saunders is a gross company owned by a disgusting old lady. Do yourself a favor and work with any other real estate company.

My wife & I did not have a buyer's agent until we met Lindsey, who we met while looking at a house she was showing. While we didn't buy that house, we were impressed with Lindsey's professionalism and knowledge of the local real estate market. After talking with her a bit and discussing our requirements, we asked her to be our agent. She got right to work and within a couple of days she had a series of quality houses lined up for us to look at. Our requirements were pretty specific and within a week we had narrowed our options down to 2 houses. With Lindsey's input and guidance we were able to make an informed decision and offer that was accepted. Lindsey walked us thru the entire process, from search to to being under contract to closing and move-in. She was our advocate thru the entire process, as well as being very easy to work with. We highly recommend her and MS&C to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.

We were in Sarasota to see areas we would like to move to. We found a house that we had seen online and called Jennifer to see the house the next day. Her partner Christine met us the next day, she was prompt.and pleasant .She was not well informed of the neighborhood. I had many questions about certain aspects of the house that she did not know and never did she say she would find out for me. I had been preapproved for a mortgage and had a check in hand, never was asked if I would like to make an offer .She knew we were in the market for a house and didn't offer to help us find one nor did she call us after the showing to see about anything. Completely disinterested. The house came off the market shortly after that. I will be retuning for a few weeks to look again but will not be using this company.

Our Real Estate Agent Beverly Alter was excellent. Given the specifics of what we were looking for, and the amount of properties that did not fit the bill, she was as tenacious as a bulldog. She finally found the property that fit the bill, and she handled everything professionally and courteously. Above all was her communication. A pet peeve of mine is when I make a call to someone, I expect a call back in a reasonable time. She always got back to me, and always answered any questions or concerns that I may have. A+.
