Litterally had me waiting for over 3hrs. I've seen like 3-4 people who got there after me and left before i did. Not sure why they give me an appointment me at a certain time and keep me waiting. First few times i did taxes here was good but now I'm not sure if I want to do my taxes here again.

I was referred by someone to work with this business in January 4 2021, she told me they were wonderful and she gave me the contact for Martha Velarde. Not sure if she is the owner but I leave several messages, I never got a ny simple response. I called last time in Marz 04 and the told me I have to send documents in order to get a appointment with her. What a shame!!! I don't understand why people have business if they not gonna be able to respond a very simple called.

This family business did incredible work to help my family to solve some years of issues with past due tax preparation and at such at a wonderful price!

I can't describe how wonderful everyone there was to help and figure it out and get it done! If you are hesitant, don't wait. People like this are there to help you!

Update in 2018:
Back again for both getting my own really old back taxes straightened out, and current taxes handled too! I am impressed again how well she handled it all smoothly and effectively.

All it takes is one person to drop the ball.

I have been a customer here for many and many years.

Before I arrived I called to see if I needed an appointment because I know how busy this place can get.

I walked in about 5pm and talked to the front desk help named Lucy. I told her I wanted to do my taxes and gave her a specific person I would like to do them with, She told me to have a seat. After 45 min of waiting I go back up to the window and ask if I'll be seen or if they will be taking my paper work from me to get my file started. The other front desk girl said "unfortunately we aren't seeing anyone today." She gave me the options to leave my paper work and they will call me back when they work on it. At this point I was so upset because I was told to sit and wait for nothing and funny thing the gentleman that was being helped at the moment by Lucy said out loud "yeah she forgot about me as well, I waited 2 hours".
As a courtesy they said I could be seen anywhere between 7pm till midnight, you must be crazy if I'm gonna wait till midnight to pay over $150 to have my taxes done.

Mind you they are asking people to leave their paper work, they will call you back and all you have to do is come in to sign it but they are also seeing people in the office because you can clearly see people coming in and out of the office's and waiting in the hallways to be seen next.

I replied as nice as I could and said unfortunately you guys have lost a customer, I will never be returning to do my business here and you can let Martha and her daughter Jessica know that I'm very disappointed that every year this get more and more unorganized and very unprofessional, the girl looked at me and said "OK, bye"

Sad to say this place is all about making money (cash business) so they can care less if they lose a long time customer.

This is a family own cash business and they don't seem to get it together.

Tax Time!

I've been coming to MAV Service to do my taxes since I started working back in 2003. This company has been with my family for many years before me. My mother and my older brothers are the ones who introduced me to this place and I haven't left since.

Once tax season starts this place is ridiculous to get in but you do have many options once you are ready.

1. Drop them off and come back in about 4 weeks to approve and sig the final documents

2. Come in and just wait, depending on the day and night the waiting time can range anywhere from 1 to 6+ hours.

3. Call days in advance and put you name on a waiting list for a future day. You can walk in that day and you will still have a waiting time but at least you will be one of the first in.

The business is ran by the owner Martha Velarde and her family, they have such a great team that even if it's a long waiting time they do everything they can to make sure everything is running smooth.

When I first started here I would wait for Martha only because my mother knew her but for the last 3-4 years I have been helped by her daughter Jessica, Jessica is just as professional and works just like her mom. They make such a great team!

For your convenience they always have tons of chairs to sit and wait, a tv for movies or news, restrooms, and they sell small snacks like sodas, chips, and candy bars.

I can't express enough how busy this place can get so make sure you plan ahead. Lucky we only have to do this once a year lol right?!

Last but not least all the prior years they would only accept cash or checks BUT this year they now accept Plastic (Debit or Credit) of course for a small convenience fee.

Martha and her team are excellent!! Expect a wait but the payoff is worth it!! She actually cares about her customers and does our taxes as if they were hers! I'll be going to Martha for as long as she's in business!

Scammers... They'll call you initially with nonsense, asking if you set an appointment to do taxes.. First of all, I don't even know who you people are.. Secondly how did you get my number when I've never heard of your business... My taxes have been complete!!! People... Be careful of third parties sharing information..

Worst service around town, they took a lot of time just to fill a paper that I could easily have done myself. Charged me 50 dollars and didn't even send my papers to the IRS office.
I was thinking of going back to file my tax returns there now I'm going to find somewhere else to do it.
