I want to thank Matador credit union and its employees for providing such great service on auto loans. They provide great competitive rates explained everything along the way. Service was so wonderful with a low interest rate. I had two auto loans with them. I would definitely recommend reaching out if you need a auto loan.

The employees at this credit union have been the worst I have EVER dealt with. Alex has screamed to me on the phone, lied, and caused me so much mental stress. Jesse is rude and does not listen to anything. If someone is behind and at least trying to put something on it, his response was go borrow from someone because I need the full amount. I refuse to speak to anyone except the higher up. If I could go buy a new car right now I would surrender the one I have with them because it’s not worth the mental stress.

Refinanced my auto loan recently with Matadors. During the refinance process a hail storm damaged my car. My insurance company attempted to pay out on my vehicle but Matadors refused to accept payments, complained paperwork wasn’t correct, requested additional information, and told me they would no longer support my loan due to the quality of my brand new vehicle with hail damage. After months of trying to get insurance and this bank on the same page, the vehicle was taken as a total loss, and I was stuck with a large remaining balance that they then decided to add additional costs to for insurance that wasn’t provided for a vehicle they refused to let me keep. Extremely disappointed in the lack of efforts in this company I chose to “help” me.

I refinanced my auto loan with this company and have been so grateful ever since. My interest and monthly payment was significantly reduced. They are very flexible with late payments as they allow about a 10-15 day grace period and offer the ability to skip a payment one month and move it to the end of your principle loan with only a small fee. I recently have not been working as I will be starting a new job and the staff was kind and considerate as they have waived fees as a courtesy and accepted late applications. They really seem to strive to put you in the best financial position rather than take your money. Thank you MCCU staff!!!

The pandemic definitely hit this credit union really hard, they closed down one location and stopped all of their share branches which means you have to go to the Chatsworth location. If you're lucky the ATM will have money to dispense but most times it doesn't same with the Northridge location. I've had too many issues with bills needing to be paid and my money is stuck either because I can't get money out of the ATM or I can't deposit money into the ATM to pay electronically. The staff is really nice though but the issues I've come across outweigh the good. I feel bad having to close my account here hopefully in the new year they will recuperate, that being said I will not be a part of their recuperating process.

Previously 2 stars now it's 1. Closing account. Atms are always an issue. Employees are not much better.

This credit union has been great. My interest rates were lowered, they are lenient when it comes to late payments(understanding of life’s emergencies) and they are overall quick when it comes to fixing mistakes. I’ve actually been able to see my principal go down over the past couple of years since I’ve been with them. I would recommend them to mostly anyone.

Only reason I'm giving a three is because Nairi the president has been nice and accommodating. And also Eric Williams being understanding, HOWEVER I hope NO ONE encounters Alex Guzman. He lies and tries to not do anything to help financially affected clients and will go toe to toe and over talk you no matter what. Which shows me he doesn't value clients and only wants to collect money and ignore calls.

Full disclosure, I have been a member of MCCU for over 40 years! I was just in a dispute with the credit card processor and distributor for MCCU. They took the side of a sneaky vendor and didn't want to communicate with me as to why they did it. I reached out to the credit union for help with the matter. I got initial help from some of the credit union employees but it wasn't until Denise Ramirez, took the time to meet me in the offices, understand what the problem was and made the calls to get directly through to the credit card company. She resolved the problem by getting a hold of them over the phone. And we got positive answers because of her customer service and professionalism. MCCU is blessed with great people working there and in particular, Denise Ramirez. Thank you Denise and all MCCU for taking care of your members. And not just turning your back on us and ignoring us, which is what the credit card processor did.
