We worked with Marco to buy a home. We were unsure whether we wanted to stick out a few more years in the city or head to a NW suburb. Marco went above and beyond his job description in helping guide our buying decision and the value we might get out of either market.

We settled on a home in the suburbs. After a few open houses on our own and a few showings with Marco, we ended up finding a home through a private listing Marco had sent us. We toured the house on our own during and open house and put an offer the following week day.

Marco was very professional when it came to negotiation and the offering table.

We were extremely pleased with the house we ended up with, the price we paid and the savings we used from Lucid’s pay by the hour structure.

Lucid Realty was the perfect model for us when my fiancee and I decided to move forward with buying a home. We had done significant research upfront through various online listing platforms and had decided the neighborhood and price range we wanted to be in. When we found a property that we really liked and wanted to move quickly, I contacted Lucid to understand both their rebate model and their hourly model.
Lucid's willingness to share a significant portion of the commission with their clients while still performing at a high level was very attractive and better than any other providers on the market in Chicago. Marco continued to be helpful as we worked through closing, and upon closing, we received the full buyer's agent commission less the reasonable hourly fees that we owed Lucid. Updated Feb 2024: We bought another house with Marco. It went extremely well. I am about to deposit a rebate check FROM Lucid realty to me for $39,405. If you are buying a higher-priced home you'd be crazy not to at least talk to them. Period.

September 2018: We recently bought a home with Marco Mejia and had a wonderful experience. You would be crazy to work with one of the giant realty shops when buying a home-- this saved us a ton of money and the alignment of incentives made much more sense. Think outside the box!

It’s a great balance for people who are willing to do some of the house hunting themselves (we used their hourly pricing structure rather than paying full commission).
