She is incompetent, unethical and money hungry. She led us on a wild goose chase for weeks asking for needless documents and information. She billed for every second, running our bill to over $5K. Perhaps that would be ok, except we knew more about the tax laws than she did! Her knowledge is decades old. Finally, our current CPA just told us she made errors with our returns that will need to be fixed. That was the last straw! Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I do not doubt that Loreen is capable at her job, but I can tell you that the value was pretty bad. I ultimately spent a total of ~$3k with her during the process. I debated posting this review for a while, but after hearing similar sentiment from others who have dealt with her I felt compelled.

(1) She charges for every ounce of her time, which is fine...the problem is...she is chit-chatting, small-talking, and telling unsolicited anecdotal stories...all the while the meter is running on you.

(2) My taxes were not super complicated, but because it was my first year in California moving from a new state, I wanted to start my tax history here on a very good foot, so i hired Loreen. There was a lot of back and forth that I do not think was necessary (but all billable hours to her) & at the end, I had to be the one the collate all of my paperwork and send as certified mail to all of the necessary places around the country. And she was pretty indignant about that fact that this was something I should do (which honestly floored me)....when you would think $3000 (and the fact that she had an assistant working with her) would cover her and her office mailing out everything on your behalf and handling the logistics.

(3) On top of that...there were errors and additional costs that were incurred because her tax preparation was incorrect....I just handled on my own because i feared another ridiculous up-charge from her if I told her...and i did not want the back and forth.

At the end of it all i felt that the cost was outrageous, the service was "not great" at best, errors were made AND I had to end up doing a bulk of the actual logistical work myself....$3k didn't get me much at the end of the day. Just awful value all around.

I wanted to like Loreen's service and strike up a recurring partnership for my future endeavors in real estate and business...but I was very disappointed in her service. Not saying I was scammed....but she certainly appeared to be a shark.
