I had the unpleasant experience having my taxes prepared by the Kingman, AZ Liberty Tax Service. At my scheduled appointment time on 4 April 2018, I dropped off the paperwork to one of their employees. She said “I remember you, I did your taxes last year.” I asked her how much it would be this year and I was told somewhere between $200.00 and $300.00, but probably closer to $300.00. I asked her when my taxes would be completed and I was told they would be ready by 6 April 2018. Finally, on 10 April 2018, I called and was told they would be completed by 11 April 2018. Around noon, 11 April 2018, I was contacted and informed that my taxes were finished. I went in on 13 April 2018, and a different employee informed I that my taxes were not completed and that the preparer was going to have to come back in and correct the errors. Specifically, she had listed my business as a home based business, which is patently false as I have a storefront and pay rent. And she never entered the total annual mileage. I also found out that the person responsible for preparing my taxes had not worked at Liberty Tax Service the preceding year, and that she was new to the tax preparation business. I also called the corporate office to file a formal complaint, and was informed that someone in a position of authority from the Kingman Liberty Tax Service would contact me. Today, 19 April 2018, and I’m still waiting to hear from someone at Kingman Liberty Tax Service.
