Tyonna Yearwood at the Santa Monica Branch is very caring and amazing at her job and God heard my prayers. I needed a personal loan to cover unexpected funeral costs that were just getting eaten up by credit card rates. Then she was able to get my car refinanced for much much lower! This is such a huge burden off my shoulders and now I will see forward progress! I must mention that I am in Arizona now and so all this was done over the phone. I will not be changing my credit union ever. 20 years strong

Ariel is an actual angel. She is so kind, so AMAZING at what she does, wants to help you the most she absolutely can & it’s all genuine. I hesitate to post this bc she’s so busy herself already, but she is truly the best.

Not a bad credit union, though the branch is a little interesting and different from other banks/credit unions

I signed up for an account and Tyonna was insistent that I leave a Google review, I think that is one reason her name shows up so much on Google and Yelp, along with one or two other bankers. The reviews you see here are probably made similarly, and so take these reviews with a grain of salt. This is a bank so I did not expect this sort of expectation from a banker when I was signing up and requesting a loan.

Kinecta is also one of the bigger credit unions, and so the personal touch is not really there. They will charge you for small things like mailed statements and little things here and there.

Online support has been great. I can reach someone any time of day.

There's a coin counter in the lobby which is very nice for the once a year or once every two years you'll use it. Much better than Coinstar.

Kinecta does not have very many convenient locations. It really depends on where you are for this to make sense. Once I moved from the West side I only occasionally go in branch.

Overall I'd say as far as credit unions go, Kinecta is okay, definitely sitting in the middle. This branch, I'd say most bankers are very helpful, though the help I've gotten has varied wildly - some knew how to handle my loan request and others did not.

The credit union I primarily use now is so different, and that is what prompted me to write this comment. Kinecta is okay, but beware of these small caveats. You may be better off and get much better service with your employer Credit Union or other local credit union. Kinecta is one of the "big" credit unions and so the customer service scales toward being more general and less personal.

I called this branch Saturday morning looking to secure a pre approval for an auto loan as I had an appointment the next day at a dealership. I was transferred to Ms. Alicia Patterson who went above and beyond to ensure I received my approval before they closed since Saturday they have shorter business hours. She also was in constant communication with me every step of the way and very patient. She accomplished to maintain a positive attitude while servicing me on the phone and through email all while still engaging in other major in person appointments that day. Even when I emailed her on her off day with a follow up question, she called me first thing the next business day to make sure that my question was answered and I was satisfied with everything. I got my car, and it was the fasted and most stress free process of purchasing a car I have ever experienced.

No phone answering, no calls backs, they short you on weekend hours, they won't change your address over the phone, website errors, sneaky fees

Tyonna is amazing!! She was able to do in 10 min, what my personal finance rep couldn’t do for an entire month. She has great customer service and made sure my every need was met before she ended the call, and was very professional despite me being so livid with the my personal finance rep and Kinecta as a whole. It was her diligent and professional customer service that stopped me from closing my account with Kinecta, that’s how upset I was. There were no loose ends by the end of the conversation and I finally felt a huge sense of relief! Thanks again Tyonna!!

I've been trying to rebuild my credit over the last year, and I needed to make this review a priority because Delbert McFarlane at Kinecta has personified the idea of community banking, and the above and beyond service that goes with it. I went into Kinecta in May of 2020 for advice on how to rebuild my credit so my wife and I could buy a house and start a family, and Delbert took the time to help me come up with a plan to execute over the year. I got a secured credit card, made my payments on time, and by July of 2021 my score had gone up 100 points. Sure enough, I returned to Kinecta and applied for the unsecured card, and Delbert fought for me for three weeks to make sure my hard work was rewarded after my initial application was declined. He even followed up with a handwritten card, thanking me for the opportunity to help. I'm blown away by service I've received and I'll be banking with Kinecta from now on because of it.
