He came by and resolved the few minor issues we had the very next day after contacting them. I highly recommend their service.

I moved into one of the properties on Ivey Rd in February. I had went in to view the apartment a few weeks prior. Alex showed me the apartments and explained the different plans they had available which included different color hardwood and also different styled backsplash in the kitchen. Also there were upgraded units with different styled doors and also ceiling fixtures. I was moving all the way from New York to North Carolina and everything seemed to go pretty well up until the day I moved. I was able to get everything set up over the phone and via email which was very convenient.

The day I moved in I walked into an apartment that did not have hardwood nor did I have the style backsplash that I was I was going to receive. It was tiled which I didn’t even know tile was on option. I had asked several times if they could send me photos of the exact apartment I would be moving into because I had had an awful experience with my previous apartment and did not want the same thing happening this time around, which it did. When I called to complain they just apologized and said there was nothing they could do because another unit would not be available for another two weeks. I had already hired and paid for a moving company which I was not going to do again. They did offer me my next month’s rent free for the inconvenience which I think helped but I continued to keep having problems.

The maintenance department took over a month to address the issues I had from the day I moved in which included: A leaking sink, mold on the ceiling and my closet fixtures broken. The guys were super nice but also very disorganized. About 2 months of living here I noticed that every time it rained a puddle of water would form in the corner of my living room. I had submitted a request to have this taken care of and all they did was put sandbags around that corner of my apartment and said that they would reseal it once the weather dried up. They came and removed the sandbag and I thought they fixed it but I continued to have the same problem every time it rained really hard. By the 4th or 5th month one night at 8 pm I walk down stairs to 3-5 inches of standing water in the front of my house. Thank god I caught it soon enough to save the area rug I had but my furniture has already been sitting in this water. Carl the maintenance guy ended up coming over fairly quick to vacuum the water up but it just was not stopping. I was up until 1 in the morning helping him clean the place up. They ended up sandbagging the whole front of my apartment and putting all of my furniture up on Styrofoam. At this point I was furious. My apartment smelled like mildew and I had to worry about my apartment flooding every time it rained.

I emailed the owner and demanded to let out of my lease with no penalty to me. Which they did agree too. I was out a month later. I was told that I would be mailed a check for the remaining of my rent and also my security deposit back. It’s been over a month and I have e-mailed Alex over a week ago asking when to expect the check. I still have not had a response. I would never ever recommend JDK Properties to anyone. Not only is their customer service non-existent but they are very negligent. I feel that I have been more than patient with this company but I am not surprised that I still have yet to hear a response.

Submitted an application and was schedules to view the home. Once i got there early, i waited 30 mins and no one showed up. Tried calling Mike 3 times and left messages with no response . Finally the last tome I called be answered and said he was “just there” and there’s actually a women who lives there currently but she isn’t there to show the house. Weird thing is is I was there for about 45 minutes total. Arrived about 10-15 minutes early and waited 30 minutes after the scheduled showing for someone to show up . He also stated he’d have to r schedule the showing for the same times the following week and would send “emails” out about it. Weird thing was we never communicated via email before so why would he say he’d email me the new showing time. I then tried to follow up a few times in that week to see about the new showing date and never received and call back. It’s really unprofessional if this is a legitimate business as you took our application fees but never actually got a chance to view a home. We’re expecting a baby in a few months and were really hoping to move into a bigger space but instead we got scammed out of $70. Be weary of doing business with this “business”

Extremely unprofessional ALEXANDER J SERRA is very rude. Alexander met us to view a property the maintenance guy was there fixing items not including the broken window which wasn't that big of a deal but to look down and see that the maintenance guy is carrying a gun first RED FLAG! Regretfully we submitted an application with these people paying of course an application fee to receive NOOOO call back for weeks then when I call the office we get ALEX lying stating he is still processing the application. Fact is it does not take that long to run credit and get a couple verifications I've been in property management for years now.I spoke with Alex on the phone asking him about the process he discourteously disconnected the call so I kept trying to contact Alexander now I'm only receiving his voicemail or relayed messages that he was not in the office I drove over to see him in person only for the women in the front office to lie for him saying he is NOT here. His car is parked outside the car, color, plate number as from the viewing of the property very strange now that's confirmation that I was being totally ignored and lied to as a customer. I will NEVER DO BUSINESS with this company again!

We leased a nice home on hwy 119 just north of Mebane 15 months ago. We signed a one year lease with the ability to do month to month after 12 months. That was our first mistake. We put a deposit of $1300.00 refundable and $200 pet fee, not refundable, Second Mistake. We left the house in pristine condition when we left.

Problem is these people are no good, Emily is now longer with them and I have been dealing with some jerk name Rick, he is nothing but a go between liar with a bad attitude. I did get to talk to a bigger jerk named Dan (one of the owners, the D in JDK,) well he is a foul mouthed individual with a presence of #$%hole mentality. Oh did I leave out he is also a liar.
The best they can do is tell me I am the mercy of the post office. JDK is affiliated with REMAX realty and I sure thought that REMAX was a legit
business, oh well live and learn.

If you are smart stay away from these shyster people that are JDK property !

Absolute unprofessionalism at the least. We scheduled a showing and naturally, the person supposed to show the property didnt show up resulting in us having to call the office to get someone else. That was the first red flag. The house was in complete disrepair with a side gutter falling off, the person showing us the house said that "it hadn't been noticed yet". Second red flag. Submitted the application fee several weeks ago, never heard anything from anyone after emailing and calling repeatedly. Stay well away.

I had pretty much have the same experience as one of the others who has posted on here. We (my wife and I) have been looking for a house to rent for over two years because the apartment we live in has increased its rate to over $1'500 a month and we have outgrown this two bedroom on the third floor, since we now have a two month old baby. For that type of money, that's practically a mortgage payment and it has been too difficult to save up money for a down payment on buying a house. Only reason why I am mentioning that is because if any of these property management companies out there that may have something to offer, I'd like to speak with them. If it's one of the companies that I will be talking about, then I would like for them to prove me wrong. The only companies I have found around the Mebane area is Larson Properties, which allows pets, but a lot of their homes are either too small, not the greatest neighborhoods or if they do have one you like, you have to put down a deposit BEFORE you are allowed to see the home. American Homes 4 Rent is a waste of time. They are BEYOND rude and will talk to you in a condescending manner, plus they are trying to monopolize the market, so they act like they can do whatever they want and if you have an issue with a home that falls in the category where they are responsible to repair, then I wish you luck. The last company I know of is JDK Property. There were two homes in Mebane, on on Anna Drive and another on Nicks Road. After waiting and waiting for a response, they said that the one on Anna Drive was no longer available and they were not aware of the home on Nicks Road and they would get back to me. After watching the market for over two months and driving by to both homes, it was still available with him that time and they still never contacted me back on Nicks Road, and this has been over eight months ago. There are a few other homes we are interested in and contacting them is almost impossible. I just sent them an email yesterday asking them if there is a better way to contact them or are they still open for business, because the way that they have been ignoring me and quite a few other people I know, I have no idea how they still keep their doors open. I'm a little afraid to rent from them, because if it's this hard to get in touch with them to offer them some business with cash in hand, then how hard will it be if something happens to the house and I need it repaired? I bet if I missed a payment then I may actually hear something fairly quickly. Such as, there is another home that they have for rent. I am very interested in, and it has been on the market for several months and they have actually decreased their price on it. For what they are asking for, people would jump on it...but it's still for rent? Makes me a little uneasy. Either they don't care about making money, or that house is jacked up beyond belief from the previous tenants and they refuse to fix it.
