Our initial consultation with Katie was great, which made us feel confident seeking a home with their company. We had originally signed on with one agent that we selected, but we were transferred to another agent without any indication of why. This is where our experience was lacking and started to decline. We were seeking a land lot. Our agent was unable to filter out properties with HOAs and was just able to provide us with the automated listings. Again fine, as we were doing our own digging on redfin every day. So every listing we found and wanted more info on was on our own accord. Which is ok, but we just felt like we were not a priority. We figured it was because what we were seeking was not high budget.

When we finally found a property that we liked and were ready to make an offer on, we felt our agent rushed us through the whole process. We felt our agent was essentially the seller’s agent. They originally wanted us to just have a 15-day due diligence period and wanted us to waive septic and well inspections. We pushed for a 30 day due diligence and insisted on the septic inspection. We were lucky we did it as it was in disrepair and needed $7k in repairs. The closing date was pushed back as we needed to get the septic repaired. Our agent rushed us through the repair decisions, even though time was needed to verify repairs and the closing date had been pushed back. Meanwhile, any inconvenience from the seller was conveyed with full urgency and no regard to our priorities and our timeline or even the actual closing date. One positive point was that the folks at Isabell Horsely have a list of service providers and references of who were all excellent. Ultimately, we closed successfully, which is what counts the most. But overall, we felt we were never a priority or advocated for.

In summary:

Pros: excellent service referrals, a successful closing, getting information from seller’s agents.

Minuses: Poor overall service and buyer advocacy and overall process management.

Quality, Integrity & Genuine Care for their Community is how I would describe Katie & David Dew.
