I did a search looking for an Auto Owners Ins agent and found Imes Insurance. I called anticipating an automated answer. I was pleasantly surprised when Candice answered on the first ring! She took the time in that call to get the information she needed from me. Following communication was excellent. I am set up with the bundled coverage I need that fit my budget.

Our family has used Imes Insurance for about 20 years. Perry Imes is committed to providing the correct coverage needed for your situation. Linda, who I work with with some regularity, is just wonderful, receptive, and immensely helpful. When on occasion something happens, like a leak in your home, they will be there to make sure you get what you need in a timely fashion. Insurance without an agency, in my opinion, is not the same when you need it!

Called to get a landlord insurance policy quote and was told that I had to change all policies over to their company in order to do business with them. I asked who they insure with and they told me they are brokers so they just shop around multiple companies that anyone can find but make money off referring you there. So of course they make more money off of you bringing more policies.

After telling the woman multiple times that I really wasn’t interested in changing my auto policy because I get loyalty benefits she then tried to up sell me on my coverage by telling me that no “reputable” business would cover it any other way. I told her that my insurance was through liberty mutual right now and I quoted the coverage amounts. She tried to fear monger me to upgrade to coverage that isn’t needed. For example she wanted to have the personal property replacement be 80% of the dwelling replacement on a landlord policy. Being a landlord policy all my tenants are required to have renters insurance to cover their own personal property. It’s in the lease. So this was needless bloat coverage that was just intended to increase Imes insurance associated profits.

When confronted with this, her response was that she wasn’t concerned with price. (What the... are you serious?!) She also told me that even if it is strong arming someone into a situation that isn’t in the best interest of the client if the client isn’t willing to move every policy over to their company then they would refuse to do business with them.

With insurance being a shady business as it is I would highly suggest finding a reputable business that is straight forward and honest in their dealings. A company that cares about their clients and isn’t all about profit.

Also look at their 5 star reviews. All but 1 have only reviewed 1 or 2 businesses. Also looked them up on the BBB and they aren’t listed which is a major sign to me that they aren’t the best company to work with.

Imes has taken care of insurance for us on a number of rentals for many years and we've been happy with them. So far, no claims, so I can't speak to that aspect.
