Have always been ahead on payments and never late. They switched systems making it necessary to keep setting up and sharing your banking info for a new system that is clearly taking payments there are receipts for and acknowledged. However, every week or so they send a new letter or email telling us we haven't set up payments. Customer service says all payments are received but refuses to stop sending notices. This is not the local branch as much as the main company. They need to work on customer service and keeping their multiple systems amd records straight. It I'd a disaster.

wildly unhelpful over the phone. needed a new card sent to me as i lost mine moving and live three hours away. have been wanting to switch to a closer bank for a while but also need to replace my ID before opening a bank account. ordered a new card so id have proof of signature to get a new ID. old card is disconnected and i have no way of using it. can’t use it in my phone wallet at all. i called to see if i could get the number and codes on the back of the new one to add it back into my wallet as i was told it may take multiple weeks to receive in the mail. they told me it was possible but that the information hasn’t generated and to wait another day. wait a day and call and am told they actually cant do that for me. i am confused as to what im suppose to do in the meantime. i have things to pay for and need to pay rent and groceries and i was pretty much told tough luck although the other two people i originally spoke to made me believe it was possible.

My father was a very long term customer of IHMVCU in Galesburg, never much trusting the regular banks. He passed away and I needed to deal with his accounts, but I live in another country so that was all very logistically challenging. While I was in town, I went to IHMVCU several times to handle aspects of tying things off, and the staff were incredibly helpful. I even was witness to several times (while waiting) where a customer came with a difficult issue (as so often is the case) and I saw the staff try their best with empathy and support, to help the person through that challenging situation. My situation was even more challenging and that put me in touch with a financial coach named Samantha Klein. She is an absolute rock star. There were so many aspects that I knew nothing about and she helped guide me through the choices and how to manage things in the best way for my context. When I returned home, she helped me via email to manage the last aspects of the process and went above and beyond to show compassion and support for me and my family in a very difficult time. I can understand why my father trusted this organisation with his hard earned money and I couldn't recommend the credit union and Samantha in particular any higher!

I got a call from their fraud Dept this weekend telling me someone tried taking my money out of an atm in Davenport. Luckily it was declined. The fraud Dept cancelled my card and given the holiday weekend I couldn't go into the bank until Tuesday for a new card. Which was fine I understood, it was inconvenient I couldn't have access to my money for a couple days, but I understood. I made plans to leave work to go to the bank and get a new card on Tuesday. I get to the bank the line was all the way outside the door. I wait in line for 30 minutes while only two tellers worked the counters. I get up to the counter get everything taken care of all they had to do was print my new card. The guy told me it would be 5 minutes. I wait another 10 minutes, still nothing. I learn the machine is now broke and hear another worker say they will look at it but they are too busy to do it now. Me, still waiting and now have been at the bank for 45 minutes get more frustrated when I hear this especially when I left work to do this. I understand things happen, but they just seemed like they didn't care to help. I had to get back to work and they told me they would call me once my card was ready today and I could come back and get it. Since I work for a living across town I couldn't come back today, but would figure it out. I go back to work frustrated since this was something that happened to me and something the bank should of been able to take care of and didn't now I'm inconvenienced even more. Another three hours go by still no call so I call them only to be told I will just have to wait till they get it fixed very rudely. Again, this was not my fault, someone else tried to take my money, the bank didn't have the working machine to print me out a new card I still don't have access to my account for bills, not to mention I have bills that come out automatically and if this isn't fixed I will get a late fee. Basically they told me they couldn't do anything for me. That is not an acceptable answer, I have been banking there for 11 years now and I couldn't believe this service. I was told the person that took my info would call I couldn't even get a courtesy call that they are working on the problem and will take care of it, I got NOTHING! If this was their money I bet you they would be on it. Horrible customer service.

Every time I go here I have a successful visit, they have NEVER failed to help me find a satisfactory out come for whatever problem I bring them. And believe me I have brought them more than just a few. Been doing Business with IHMVCU since they first opened an office in Galesburg back in the 80s. Fabulous outfit with extra ordinary staff.

Now that the lobby is open. This is a lot easier place to go. I was really on the verge of leaving IHMVCU over that. It just made it so difficult for someone who has to make weekly trips to the bank. But it's open now and I always enjoy going in. The girls at the desk know who I am and have me pulled up in the computer usually before I even get to the desk.

Really one of the better experience I had at a bank
