I have been a member of this “credit union” for 28 years. I have to say that ever since they merged/bought Bell West credit union the service and lack of knowledgeable employees has waned away. Unless you are doing a routine transaction get ready to sit down in the waiting room while someone calls for help at another branch. I’m confident this is not the teller/employees’ fault. I’m sure it is directly related to their training which is the company’s fault.
Furthermore, the absolute pile of vile and unwanted junk mail I receive from them just keeps growing. I personally use their unopened letters for bon fires in my backyard. The only thing is I have to invite people over monthly to enjoy these fires and it’s a lot to host monthly bon fires lemme tell ya.
I’ve been contemplating writing this review for a while but the attached picture pushed me over the edge.
Clearly they are selling members information to other companies for profit. I realized this after opening this somewhat threatening letter that I have a “final notice” to protect my loan. By the way, I will NEVER EVER get a loan from them again. I’ll go to a real bank.
Really GLCU? Really? The poor employee training and virtual incompetence of your staff warrants you caving in. I’m sure it won’t be long. The writing is on the wall.
My message to everyone, including the employees, is to get out while you can. The ship is not only sinking, it’s on fire and getting bombarded with cannon balls. (Like the ancient reference? I know I do.) I’m surprised you all aren’t tallying up your calculations with an abacus.
Go away and stop sending me junk mail.

I went to the Naperville location to start the process of closing out my husband's account after he passed away. Worst customer service ever! Rude, condescending young man that I spoke to. Stay away from this place! They don't know what they're doing. Horrible!

I would avoid doing any business with this CU. If you need to do any business out of the norm or require escalation you will be running in circles. It is taking 6 months to get me added to my mothers account despite the legal documents I have provided. They will not let you speak to anyone outside of the office and provide minimal assistance. I will be closing my mothers account once I get access. Save yourself the grief... nice people but completely incompetent!

Took me off auto pay, failed to inform me they took me off auto pay and repossessed my car without any warning. Company is for your money not for you.

Billy was not so customer friendly today! I asked to withdraw money from my account, he asked me if I had an account 🤦🏽‍♀️ Like why would I come inside a credit union and ask to withdraw funds if I did not bank with you. Then verses putting funds in and envelope he laid the money down on the counter with the envelope. Like don’t work a job that involves you handling customers. Or Maybe it was just me! He was a horrible representation of GLU today

I would give them ZERO stars if I could! All locations near me closed. My ATM card was disabled due to not being used for six months I was never notified; found out when I tried to use my card on a Saturday night and was not able to reach a representative until the following Monday after waiting on hold for about an hour. They SUCK!

I never received any information about my auto loan rate unless I called them 5 days later. Got an email about 3 weeks later asking if I was still interested they would have to pull my credit again. Worst bank I've ever experienced.
