Hi all!
I understand there is an extension for taxes. I just had a very traumatizing experience with Garrity Bookkeeping located in Dixon, CA. Last year I paid $400 for Leah (owner) to complete two separate tax returns. I received the refund for one return and was told by Leah the additional return will need more time to process with the IRS. During last year a tragic incident happened with one of the employees and I respected the issue and did not reach for 5 months about the return. When I did reach out, Leah responded that the return is still processing. I called the IRS who related back that the return was actually never received. Leah’s excuse was the increase of clients and her 2 week vacay during tax season has caused my return to “fall through the cracks''. I requested a full refund of $200 since the return was never completed. Leah, knowing that I am a full time student, decides to only refund half of what I paid for. This is just heartbreaking since every dime I make I put right into my education. I hope this helps others who are still trying to file taxes to beware of the local businesses who are just after your money.
