Due to big corporate banks lack of genuine customer service and lack of communication to their clients I had to move on so I decided to join a Sonoma County local bank and that would be Exchange Bank.

Exchange bank was founded in 1890 by father and son, Manville Doyle and Frank Doyle. Frank had a commitment to his community and for that he has his own scholarship for Santa Rosa Jr. College instead of passing down his fortune he used it for students. The bank does support 250 local non profit organizations.

I really appreciate local banks because they tend to be more personal with their community and Exchange Bank is a good example of that. I do enjoy the way they decorate for their bank, especially on holidays.

With that being said at this specific bank in downtown Santa Rosa I had an incident that I didn’t appreciate. I had my uncle/financial advisor next to me and the worker there forced him to step aside even when I authorized him to speak on my behalf if need be. She then pulled me aside and whispered like an immature kid. I felt uncomfortable and as if she insulted my intelligence. As a client I should be respected and treated as an adult, not as a child. There may be legal protocols to follow when it comes to accounts and finances, but it’s the way she approached it that was wrong. There also needs to be better communication with clients because there was a hold on my Zelle and wasn’t advised about it. I should be told if this is going to happen.

There is also a crown jewel at that bank named Ali. She has a charming personality and the patience required for the job. She explained everything to me and has made me feel very good about myself. Whoever hired her deserves a promotion!

The location of this bank is very convenient especially if you spend a lot of time in downtown Santa Rosa. There are 2 parking spots in front of
the bank.

Overall this isn’t a bad bank!

June 2023 I money was stolen by hackers from my bank account and then in July I received my money back. As I went in this bank the manger and one male employee made a false complaint from my money being stolen that I blamed the bank which the Santa Rosa police has the real proof and this bank has nothing to do with this action and so I highly suggest that this bank needs more positive understanding and not attract your customers I had been going to this one bank over 25 yrs. Never again. Learn to respect liked or not like. This needs to be investigated and the broad owes me a meeting with a positive and healthy answer from this. And you own me from this negativity attitude 🙏

I have been banking with Exchange Bank since the 1980s. I am planning to close all my accounts and move to a different bank. This is because their customer service, when I need to go into a branch, is so abysmal. I go to 3 different branches and it's the same at each one. Every single time I've had to wait 10 to 15 minutes to get waited. Every single time there tellers are setting at their windows, people at desks all around me and maybe one or two tellers open. No one will open a window and provide service no matter how long the line is or how long they can see people waiting. I've spoken to the branch mangers and they say "oh we don't do the scheduling". That is no excuse for such terrible service.

A pretty good local bank that used to be Great. It is a bank, soo... I stopped banking here in the early 2000's when they sold my credit card account to another lender who sold it.... Exchange is still a good bank, but I prefer local/regional Credit Unions because they have over all better service, fewer fees and keep more of their money local. Exchange has lots of branches with this being the headquarters. These folks lot my faith when they damaged their endowment for the Doyle Scholarship program at SRJC due to poor investment in out of the area construction during the last Real Estate Bubble. They suspended the program for about six years. It is "recovering" now however. If you prefer banks to credit unions, this is good one.

I have been banking with Exchange Bank for years, and the service is the best of any bank I have dealt with. The staff if friendly, helpful, and highly skilled. I would recommend that anyone seeking to avoid the impersonal and callous nature of the big banks to move to their accounts here. The difference is night and day.
