I visited Essex County Teachers’ Federal Credit Union in Bloomfield, NJ to see if I could open an account, and I was genuinely impressed with the service. The lobby was full of people, the phones were constantly ringing, and yet the staff managed everything with professionalism and ease. They were multitasking—answering phones, helping walk-ins, and assisting each person without missing a beat. What really stood out was how the team worked together—constantly assuring and supporting one another. It was truly a group effort, and you could feel the positive energy in the way they handled the crowd. Even though I didn’t open an account that day, they took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel welcome. Excellent teamwork and customer service. I’ll definitely consider them in the future!

Anytime I had to conduct business in the credit union located in Newark it was always pleasant and the staff are extremely helpful. And the location is great, so I don’t have to hurry to Bloomfield on lunch or have to wait until a day off to conduct business.

Very unpleasant experience!
On 3/25 I visited the Bloomfield NJ branch and was disappointed in the service I received from one of the tellers. Very unpleasant and unprofessional customer service. I greeted her and proceeded to ask this question “Do you have a paper regarding the type of loans offered”? She said “No” now I’m waiting to get further details…none provided, as if I asked a question I should not have. That said, she then began to become combative because I stated what I felt should have been communicated and also that she had poor customer service skills. At this point it wasn’t getting any better and she then refused to service me. Which I did not have a problem with because she was the “worse”! I asked the teller who did service me if the bank manager was available. She was not.

I rather do business with the two ladies at the Hall of Records Branch than the Bloomfield Branch any day. They have excellent communication skills and customer service. Bloomfield Branch are not really pleasant speaking, they never return your calls, and they severely lack communication skills. Hopefully the Bloomfield Branch will do better. Pam is the best! <3
