My husband and I initially reached out to Ed (along with many other realtors) because we liked a listing he had in Jefferson Park. We decided to choose him as our seller's agent because he wasn't afraid to tell us his opinions even on the first initial meeting before we'd signed on with him. We've never sold a house, so hearing "Well it's really up to you" from other realtors on things like what improvements we should make, how we should stage our house, and what our pricing strategy should be did not fill us with a bunch of confidence. Ed told us, "Here are a bunch of things you could do, but here's what I would do and why." My husband liked especially that Ed was straightforward and did not try to sugarcoat things for us. We followed his advice exactly, ended up with multiple offers, and got an offer 5 days after listing that was $11,000 above list price and where we hoped to end up from the start.

Ed held our hands through the whole process, and was super-responsive via email, text, and phone call. If he couldn't reach out right away (and I really do mean RIGHT AWAY, response times were crazy fast), his assistant, Lorena, was there to pick up the slack. Ed gave us thorough briefings after each showing, and he also gave us comprehensive summaries and pro/con rundowns of each competing offer we received. There were a couple showings which Lorena attended instead, and she was similarly thorough with her post-showing briefings.

I found it super helpful that Ed already had vendors or people ready to recommend for everything. The wrought iron fencing repair service he recommended to me did a great job on the railing for our back porch and for half the price of the ones I was finding myself on Google search. I also really appreciated the care and attention to detail which Ed paid when he, the photographer, Jim, and the 3D tour/floor plan creator, Anne, came to capture all the images and multimedia for our listing. Each room and angle was carefully considered, there was no rushing, and there were several extra photos taken with alternate furniture arrangements and even alternate fruit placement in the fruit bowls.

Ed Jelinek, our broker with @properties, was instrumental on two recent occasions with helping us to sell and buy condos in Chicago. Ed knows this market well, and having someone with his experience and professionalism assisting us made what can sometimes be a stressful process very easy. When we put our condo - originally purchased as an investment property - on the market, Ed identified some of the challenges with the unit and worked to get it ready to be shown in the best light. He recommended using a staging company to help illustrate how a buyer could optimally live in the space. We were initially skeptical, but Ed’s instincts were correct. The staged unit exceeded our expectations, his marketing tactics generated interest, and an offer quickly followed. Ed managed the negotiations with the buyer, leveraging his knowledge of the market to ensure we received the best price for the unit. After this successful transaction, we asked Ed to help us with the purchase of a studio condo. He provided critical input on available properties, and once we identified the one we wanted to purchase, Ed again handled negotiations with the seller. We have bought and sold a number of properties over the years, and we agree that these have been the best experiences yet with real estate transactions.
