I was injured while working on the 10th Of April 2024 I filed the paperwork on the same day I called several times to speak with someone regarding my claim & it was not until the 10th Of May 2024 that Cristina Ascencio reached out to me. We had a long conversation & she told me I would be reimbursed for my prescriptions, er visits, doctor visits & I would start receiving a check in a few weeks. After 4 weeks I received a call from Anita Abundis who informed me she was taken over my case & told me the same thing as Cristina said. I did not receive a check until the 11th Of July 2024. I was sent to collections for the er bills being it was not paid. I did not receive another check until the 24th Of August 2024. The checks were supposed to be on the 14th & 28th of every month. My bills were always behind & during that period I had no way of paying my rent & had no choice but to vacate or be evicted. I am a single parent of a special needs child & could not have him on the street. My family was from back east, so I decided to go back east until I was fully healed. I talked with Anita Abundis about that & once she knew I relocated she abruptly said my policy was canceled I was not getting any more checks & I could file an appeal if I wanted too. Had my checks been on time I would never have been in this situation I tell you this company is horrendous. They do not want to pay & could care less what happened to you or when they put you in a bad situation correcting it. Anita did not care if my payments showed up even though I told her I was a single parent of a kid. She told me that was not her problem & things happen. Anita Abundis also decided to give a nurse practitioner my number & my medical information without my knowledge. all because as Lourdes Bouley said Anita Abundis did not want to pay me & she was sent to go to my doctor visits & get me back to work quickly or I would be denied care. Of course, it's an insurance company they take but don't want to give. I hope they get rid of Cristina & Anita.

This is the absolute worst and most unprofessional company I have ever had to interact with. They have completely neglected my husbands case and delayed his payments for over a month. The adjuster Joyce has not returned any calls or emails for over a month. The only way we got a response from her co worker not even her her co worker is threatening to get an attorney.

Would give zero stars if possible! Horrible company and even worse accountability. If you have to deal with this company ever GET AN ATTORNEY!!!

This has to be one of the worst workmen’s Comp. insurance companies. They do not care about the injured workers. You have to do the work for your adjuster, nobody never gets back to you and the check gets put into the mail without the option to direct deposit, Zelle or Venmo. I was told my check was put in the mail and it has been over five days and nothing terrible, I see why so many one star reviews.

Very irritated with this company. We switched carriers and let our agent know. Our agent with copperpoint switched and no communication occurred about canceling. It auto renewed at some point with a new agent and then when we refused to pay because we had not been using them they sent us to collections. A big FU to them.

If I could I would give them zero Stars, this company has zero compassion towards the injured employees or their families.

I lost my husband 7 years ago to a work related incident, in the beginning they were awful to work with and had to switch the adjuster working with us, and through out the years it’s gotten even worse, they talk to me like I am trash and always have attitude, I know after 7 years they just want me to get remarried already so they can close the case, It’s not going to happen.

I have called for the littlest things such as needing to update my address and I when I speak to my adjuster it’s just attitude and almost like I am an annoyance.

This time I had sent a email with proof that my vehicle had broken down and I had to pay for the gas tank and lines to be replaced on my Jeep and I needed a car to be able to get back and forth to work so I paid for my repairs with my rent money, I explained to them they were the last people I wanted to go to, to get an advance on my payment that I had went to the church, family and tried a go fund me but was given a 5 day notice to pay or quit “eviction notice” and at this point I couldn’t even afford groceries and also sent a picture of my bare fridge, they had the eviction notice and be begging them to help me and my kids with an advance of my monthly check. The response I got was this l, Lina my old claims adjuster had told me the only time they are able to do and advance is if it’s and emergency, HOW IS THIS NOT AN EMERGENCY? My children and I have no where to go and I am trying my hardest and being treated like trash!

I have reviewed your file with management and unfortunately we will not be able to issue your September check early. I understand your situation but unfortunately there is nothing that we can do.

Been having a hard time setting up direct deposit...just got it through finally. Been trying since April and its now September. I was starting to feel that maybe a trash can might have been too conveniently close to the fax machine? But thankfully it finally got set up. Everyone is very professional and helpful when calling with questions. No complaints.

Absolutely horrifying terrible insurance company! Just got done with a lawsuit involving them and got the judges decision. They were completely in the wrong with a Worker’s Compensation claim. Two days after this decision, I saw their name on the news with a similar claim, regarding a Fire Department employee selling reparations for similar action. There is no doubt that the judge will find Copper Point in the wrong, once again. Highly do not recommend this insurance company ever!
