Horrible experience. We wanted to rent a condo at Del Webb in Florham Park. When we went to their website, Eileen Sergent’s name came up. We called her, went to see the unit, and fell in love with it. After some negotiations with the listing company, we both agreed to lease it.
Eileen sent me a list of 4 bank checks I needed. I met her and gave her the checks, and we both signed the lease. This was Friday, August 30th, right before Labor Day. Later that afternoon, Eileen called and told us congratulations, you got it!
We spent the entire Labor Day weekend packing 20+ boxes, and giving away clothes and furniture. I did not hear from Eileen that Weekend or the following Tuesday. I called her Wednesday to ask for my copy of the lease. She told me she would call right back. When she did, she told me they leased the unit to someone else over the weekend. Apparently, she was supposed to send the lease and checks to the processor at the listing agency, which did not happen. I asked her why she didn’t walk it over to them, as their office is right down the block from Coldwell’s. My other beef was that if she didn’t walk it there, she should have told the other agent to pull the listing, which obviously didn’t happen. I called the listing agent to ask why they didn’t call so we might have the chance to counter. He said their agent tried to call Eileen twice, but she didn’t respond.
So here we are. Boxes throughout our condo, sparse furniture, and no new condo. We are both very upset, sad, and angry. During this weekend, Eileen started to send comps to us on our current condo, which we never asked for, proving our case that she did, in fact, let us know we had the rental.
I called Vici, the manager at CB, explained the situation, and emailed her as well. I stated that through the incompetence/negligence of her agent that we needed to get a small storage unit and CB should help pay for it. She sent an email back stating she, her management team and Eileen decided she did nothing wrong. (Nice jury)! There was no phone call to me asking questions or rebuttal.
This is a terrible situation we are left in. CB and Eileen go back to work and look for their next client, while we are in limbo living with boxes all over and little furniture.Our advise is to stay away from this branch in general, and Eileen Sergent in particular.

The staff at this office are ethical and provide honest and unbiased advice. I was impressed how they always had my best interests at heart and would go out of their way to assist in my property search and negotiations. The difference between them and other agencies that I interacted is the local experience, insight and added value they could bring. Really appreciate their help especially coming from the UK where the real estate market works very differently. If you are new to Summit, I recommend making this agency your first point of call. Also a big thank you to Dennis McGuire from their office who worked tirelessly to give me the best possible advice!

Coldwell Banker in Summit is such a wonderful office, the downtown location is amazing! The branch Manager Vici and the office staff are extremely helpful and have made me feel so welcome. I dealt with Erica sirabian and she was so nasty and condescending. She couldn't get my house sold and couldn't close the deal. Very disappointing
