I am utterly displeased with Barbara Redding (registered tax preparer), David Kline (consultant) and the other associates at Classic Accounting (1840 S 4th Ave Ste 7, Yuma, Arizona). Their tardy and unprofessional handling of my business account has caused me financial loss and severe distress.
Firstly, I have had to pay the IRS close to $6,000.00 in penalties for various infractions such as non-filing of taxes and late filing of taxes for 2023 and 2024 (Barbara Redding is yet to provide any evidence that she filed the referenced taxes or that she filed for a timely extension for 2024 because I had been adamant that I would not pay any more penalties for late filing after paying late filing fees in 2023). This is in addition to a failure to register
my company as an S-Corp (David Kline, who treats me with the utmost disdain and condescension, could also not provide any evidence of registration when I confronted him with the letter the IRS had written me. I had to register anew with my current accountants).
Furthermore, they have never treated me with courtesy. They have a habit of ignoring my emails (my last email sent to Barbara requesting evidence of filing/extension so that I could seek an abatement/forgiveness from the IRS was not even acknowledged and it took the intervention of the Better Business Bureau for her to respond to me). I never felt like they were treating my account as a priority (Most of the time I called Barbara, she would tell me that she was busy working on other accounts or preparing quarterly statements. I sent her several frantic emails urging her to file my taxes before the tax deadline which were ignored). Additionally, despite having my business card (with all my information on it) on file, they have, in multiple forms, misspelled both my name as well as my business name leading to lengthy administrative issues with the IRS.
Finally, they have shown no empathy to me for the distress and financial loss they have caused me leading me to seek 3rd party arbitration. They have employed a strategy of stonewalling, callous sarcasm, time wasting and obfuscation to avoid taking
responsibility and issuing me a refund. As a new business, every penny counts and I believe that I should not have to bear the burden of non-filing or late filing penalties when the circumstances that have led to my financial loss can
entirely be attributed to the failure of Classic accounting to live up to their professional duties and responsibilities to me.
I wish I could post a zero star. I would not recommend their services at all.
