"When I walked out of my Retirement Review Session with Capital Financial, I had the sensation of passing the examination of a lifetime - and I passed with flying colors because I chose Capital Financial as my advisors!"
- DRB, Wake Forest

Confidence and Trust is immediately established when working with the true professionals at Capital Financial Advisory Group!
They have successfully guided me through my final years of working into Social Security, but more importantly clearly demonstrated that all of my years of saving money here and there will support my wife and me until our final days. There is such great comfort in that knowledge.

Mr. Marty Hensley is our main contact, he makes everything very simple to understand and follow as we progress through these trying times.

Mr. Gregg Berrian is invaluable as a support to selecting the appropriate Medicare plan / health insurance in retirement.

Top this all off with Coach Pete D'Arruda, whose knowledge, savvy and intelligence pulls all of his staff's talents together to create a powerhouse working as TRUE fiduciaries for their clients! Coach Pete always has his finger on the pulse of the market and offers the latest ideas and opportunities - don't miss out on this!
Put Capital Financial Advisory on the top of your list as your Partner in Financial Peace of Mind! You will never regret it!

Do not fall for the hype, do not fall for the glitz and do not fall for the marketing! I would NOT recommend Capital Financial for the average person? In my opinion if you have less than 1 million they are NOT the place for you. After the sale of some stock, I had money I wanted to invest. I was assigned Leeann, she followed a formula and was detailed enough but the whole time my wife and I felt that we simply were not important or not as important than the person with over a million dollars to invest. I was caught up by Coach Pete’s glitzy commercials and shows on the radio, but I overlooked several times mentioned in the ads having 1 million. You go to their office it’s wall to wall show stopping sports memorabilia and showmanship. They were quick to get our money and then everything STOPPED.

We had NO communication for 4 years, nothing other than statements. No calls from Leeann, not a call from a subordinate, nothing from Capital Financial. They may tell you that they communicate with you, but statements are not advice or planning. Being new to investing my goal was to do a small first investment then put the bulk of my money after a year. We were given a plan of low risk WHICH WE FOLLOWED. 4 years later I was annoyed that in those 4 years we never heard from them or specifically Leeann so I called to liquidate the account. When I told the person on the phone that we wanted to liquidate our account I was told that we/our account was under the ā€œownershipā€ of another person that I did not know. As it turns out that was wrong, Leeann just never cared to communicate with us.

You should know it’s the feeling of indifference because you’re not a high $$ customer that is discouraging. After I asked about liquidation of my account I was called back and advised that they would get me the documents to sign to liquidate the account. That was it?! Leeann simply didn’t care, Capital Financial as an entity or the training of their staff simply didn’t care that I was leaving. At no point did anyone…ANYONE ask why I was leaving them. No one asked why we never invested further with them, which was the plan as laid out to Leeann, nothing and no one. I was a low value, low yield account that they were better off without is how I felt.

Insult to injury! I later received an email letting me know the value of the liquidation, it didn’t match the most recent statement that was a mere 8 days old. I called Leeann and could not reach anyone predictably. When I finally got a call back from Leeann she didn’t have an answer as to why the amounts were different and would check on that and get back to me. She never did, again, predictably.

After MY OWN research with Freedom Advisor Management who were super helpful, they let me know that unfortunately, there was a huge market drop a few days before I called to liquidate my account which caused my account a 3+% loss. Big deal, that’s the risk you take. I don’t care, it was that no one ever discussed anything with me about closing the account that maybe it wasn’t the right time. No ā€œI’m sorry but let’s start over.ā€ I guess Leeann missed the ā€œadvisorā€ part of financial advisor.

I do not know the skills of other planners, I don’t know the accounts you would be put in the hands of Capital Financial or if they are for higher value monies but if you’re the average person or starting out in the investment world I would NOT get roped in with Capital Financial and would NOT go with them.

They might deflect about my loss but again, I’m writing about this because of the indifference and lack of caring for a customer who they are supposed to be advising. After writing this they also never even called me to apologize. Predictable.

Parker Holland was very attentive to our needs. He is very straight forward and explained everything very clearly. Cameron and Joel have also been very accommodating making appointments to match our schedules. I can sometime ask lots of questions about most financial decisions and Parker always explains the answers to all my questions. Kudos to Capital Financial Advisory group. Hopefully this experience will continue.

My wife and I worked with Parker and his team where he outlined some opportunities for our retirement. Parker answered our questions with great insight and often walking us through real life examples. This was not our first meeting with Parker, but being months away from actually retiring it was our most important. We left feeling comfortable that Parker and his team have removed the financial insecurity that can be associated with retirement. Thanks

I stayed with them for 5 years and swallowed all the radio Kool-Aid.
Now I'm leaving with a 20k penalty and my original investment.
I closed 3 accounts over 2 months and not one phone call.
The customer service is as bad as the earned interest after the fees.

After a long time of listening to Coach Pete, my husband couldn't wait to have me make an appointment when I found myself in a situation where I needed to find someone else to manage my retirement funds. I'm no millionaire, but it isn't an amount to sneeze at either! But now I can honestly say I would never recommend Capital Financial Advisory Group, especially if you're a woman. We made an appointment and had the initial call, this was only going to be my account, my funds. Not a joint account. I sent the statement for them to do their analysis and then we had the meeting for them to review and show what they could do with the funds. After that, things went downhill. I agreed to their proposal, I had to sign and send a transfer form to transfer and set up the account, but 2 months later, the funds had not transferred, and they had not contacted me. I sent several emails reaching out to the Income Planning Analyst assigned to me, but she would never respond. But the second my husband emailed her? She responded right away. Excuse me? It's my money, my account. You won't respond to me? That really made me mad, but I let it go and we "re-sent" the transfer forms and a month later, nothing happened. I sent another email asking for the status and heard nothing. A week later I sent an email stating I felt like I was chasing the Analyst and that wasn't right, she should be keeping me up to date and I didn't appreciate it. I copied my husband on the email, because he's the one who recommended this place. He turned around and emailed her and told her to cancel everything, we were not giving them our money. Guess who she responded to? Him. Not me. I don't appreciate being treated that way. I'm an intelligent individual who doesn't need her "husband to speak for her". I don't appreciate being treated that way and ignored.
UPDATE: Based on "Owners" Comments. I want to be clear on what happened and this wasn't about the time it took to transfer, it was about poor communication and poor treatment. After our initial analysis and meetings here is how things really went:
Jan 17th: I provided Transfer form. Note - no communication from firm acknowledging the receipt of the form.
Jan 26th: I sent an email to follow up and make sure everything was on track. Received no response.
Jan 30th: I sent a follow up email. Received no response.
Jan 31st: My husband called and spoke with the Advisor who said we needed to try and resend the form, as if they never received the first one? Shouldn't they have responded to one of the first emails I sent to check status of receipt to let us know that?
Feb 1st - My husband Forwarded the form to them. Again, no communication as to whether they actually got the form.
Feb 3rd: I sent an email to verify the received the form. No response.
Feb 6th: My husband called and verified they did receive the form.
Feb 17th: I sent an email to the advisor for a follow-up. No response.
Feb 22nd: I sent the last email stating I felt like I was chasing and I was frustrated. Still no response.
Feb 23rd My husband sent an email telling them to cancel everything because they were not answering me. He was as angry as I was. The advisor responded in less than 1 hour. In that email, they explained that they left my husband a voicemail on Feb 20th for his SSN# and were waiting for him to provide it. But according to my husband, he had no voicemails from them at all.
I do try to be a pleasant person to deal with, I believe if you want respect, you give it. But that goes both ways and I think I have outlined adequately it wasn't given here. Perhaps I "slipped through the cracks". Given the 4.2 stars my situation is obviously outlier, but I'm also betting most of their clients are men. Notice, they responded to my husband throughout all of these dates - communication. But not to me.

I recommend that you fully understand their product and what you are getting into. Research annuities and the fees very thorough and educate yourself. Don't make my mistake. It all sounds good and especially the radio sales pitch. Once you sign the contract it's over. They never reached out for another meeting, email or phone call. You will have to contact them for your annual meeting and when i did it was weeks out before we could meet. I have a new advisor and could not be more pleased. I get texts and monthly reviews. FYI research wake forest advisors. Good luck

Response: First of all on my second anniversary, just like my first I had to contact them. THEY never made the first approach in setting up our annual meeting. My second anniversary date I waited a few weeks to see if they would contact me. NO they did not and when I called it would be about three weeks before we could meet. I had been knowing for sometime after learning more about fixed income annuities I needed to make a move and this reconfirmed. Research annuities, fees and the reviews and see if it's what you want and make your personal decision. They are are correct that I requested for our meeting to be rescheduled and the reason for this I was interviewing financial planners in case I wanted to make a move. Also, it's true I did make a profit in the two years. The market was great except when covid hit but rebounded quick. In regards to management fees. REALLY what do you think? Annuities have high commissions, fees and are set for 7-10 years and if you get out it cost you up to 10% and decreases each year. Again your money, your future educate yourself and research. I made the move and could not be happier.

I met with Marty Hensley and the 'selling' of the whole 50-50 concept was great. Shared all my financial information and then got a proposal. When I made the numbers and asked for clarifications, there was no more offer or contact. I emailed several times, and no answers.
Bait and switch? or scared of a customer that pays attention and questions? They might be good, but I didn't have a good experience.
EDIT: Adding after the 'owner' reply. We did have a zoom call to have the numbers explained (no, I did not need a CPA, I can do the numbers myself) and Marty requested my spreadsheet (10/25) and said he would check with the actuaries that make the numbers and never came back to me. I sent several emails afterwards... (10/28 to Marty and her assistant LeeAnn, 11/8 with a quick apology and offer to follow up from LeeAnn)... and after that, only silence.
