I’ve spent 5 months trying to get a leaking fridge fixed through American Home Shield. Multiple technician visits, same problem every time — and no resolution. After all this wasted time and no communication about alternative solutions, they suddenly tell me it's a manufacturer defect and they're no longer responsible. No warning, no heads-up, just a full handoff to the manufacturer after months of delays.

I paid for a service that promised peace of mind and support — instead, I got poor communication, repeated inconvenience, and no actual results. I absolutely cannot recommend AHS based on this experience.

What kind of company sends out a technician that can't crawl UNDER duct work to make an HVAC repair? Also, once you've put in a work order, there's no refunds, even if they can't do the work. Don't buy this scam of a product!

This warranty company is a JOKE! You pay your monthly premium and the $100 fee for them to come out to repair an item when it breaks but….we are still waiting 5 weeks later for them to make a decision regarding our broken Frig! Literally they have sent 3 vendors out to diagnose and or repair the problem. The first 2 they sent said REPLACE IT because it’s too old to keep fixing. Mind you they have been out 5 times over the past 4 years to fix it. Plus now this visit which makes 6 times…$600 in total to send someone out…we are forced to wait up to 7 weeks to have SEARS find a part they say is no longer available. Horrible customer service, poor choices of vendors that they use to send out and more…STAY AWAY FROM THIS home warranty company. You will be highly disappointed, frustrated, fed up and HUNGRY IF YOU CHOSE THEM!!!! 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

The only reason why I gave a rating 1 is because I cannot go lower than that.

I have been trying to get my furnace repaired for over a month now.
They say the contracting company is not responding. They did respond once but they said they have the wrong parts, and never heard from the contracting company again. I call AHS everyday for help, but I am getting nowhere. Endless calls with representative, but yet the issue is not resolved. Every time I call I have to explain the issue from the start, and they keep saying they will help things escalate but it goes no where.
I feel like the representatives are also not doing a good job actually understanding the situation and are not really being thoughtful for expediting my matter, specially since this has been taking such a long time.

I am losing faith in their service.

Terrible company. It is a nightmare when you try to cancel the service: no way to do it online; when you call, wait for 30+ mins; if you are patient enough to wait for the call, they will transfer you to 4+ representatives from different departments and you need to wait during each transfer. At the end, they will kindly remind you to pay the cancellation fee.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever had to deal with! We had a claim that they drug out for a year and when we wouldn't renew with them they also refused to fix the item that we have waited a year for them to get parts for. They closed the claim and would not honor it. We waited a year calling once a week for status updates. I believe this is the way they conduct business and not have to pay to fix your stuff. Truly the worst company I have ever had contact with.

Our Ac broke down, and the people they sent didn't even want to touch or fix our AC. Then, when it came to AHS trying to replace our broken down AC, they didn't want to. They used some BS excuse how it wasn't covered and to call the manufacturer. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!! All insurance & warranty companies are a SCAM!

Please DONOT buy it. Its a legal scam. They will make sure you cry everyday for months and still pay $2000 (after annual membership fees) for something that either can't be repaired or can be repaired in $100. They are partnered with another company SEARS home, which do not have any office. Sears charge $125 per visit even after insurance but will never fix anything on day-1. on Visit-2, they will order some parts which will take months to appear and they will do visit-3 and charge you more. I am surprised how they are allowed to work despite thousand of BBB complaints.
