Other than getting ripped off for passport photos, $20!!!, getting an International Drivers Permit was really easy. I don’t blame the staff for being ripped off, the guy that helped me was awesome and over all the experience was really nice. I only paid because I was in a rush and going to Thailand that day. Wasn’t worth it, still got a ticket in Chiang Mai because I’m not motorcycle enforced. That ticket cost $14, only took 10 minutes out of my day, and they give me a receipt that allows me to drive without getting another ticket for 2 weeks to sometimes a month! The IDP I got cost over $40 after everything. 🤦‍♂️

After calling multiple times to try and reach a live person at the San Rafael branch, and after 15 minutes I was transferred to someone in Utah that then tried transferring me back to the local branch where I was then hung up on. I had a simple question about DMV services that if answered, would have informed me that I did not need to go in for an appointment that I had made. I had called at 9:05am on Wednesday, 6/12, and whoever the man working at the front desk at 10:30am that same day was extremely rude and dismissive when asked why they couldn't answer the phone any of the times I had called. He was unhelpful, condescending, and completely unprofessional.

After 2 voice messages to an agent, 2 days later with no response and 1.5 hours waiting on the phone line to AAA, I decided to drive 10 miles to the closest branch..best decision! Angelo L. quickly and kindly helped me with a simple update to my policy. Sometimes the old school way of in-person is more efficient with your time. Very nice place to get your dmv or registration errands done. The staff was very friendly and organized, and I received very quick service. Even had a nice conversation about the area since I just relocated.

Will come back in the future for my other vehicle needs.

Skip the dmv and go AAA.

Remember the days when you could walk into most any business and be met with friendly, capable service? Well that is alive and well at this AAA office! I walked in to get my vehicle renewed, something the DMV won't have an appointment for until November, and within three minutes I was back outside at my car stocking the 2023 sticker to my license plate. If you are an AAA member, you ought to really consider using this benefit. If you are not, now is a great time to join, or ask someone who is a member to add you, it's worth it!!!

Every time I need roadside service, a a a steps up to the plate perfectly! On time, but really what excels, is the extreme courtesy, excellence and friendliness of their wonderful roadside staff. Needed a battery charge today and the assistance from the staff driver was beyond good. Thank you AAA!
