Elizabeth was very polite and friendly and explained everything that I needed to know about my claim. I have yet to receive the police report, as I was involved in a hit and run accident. I did have a witness that got the individuals license number and another great person who saw the accident and stayed with me until the police came to offer his witness testimony to the officer. I have been with the Lynn Company for forty-two years and I don't know how long with CIG, but it has been quite a while. I appreciate everything that CIG has done.

CIG refuses to send Loss Runs. They write they know you are the insured but require “letterhead” to send Loss Runs. When provided they ghost you. Do not use this company Terrible customer service and policies

I’ve never had to do more of the legwork with an insurance company as I have this time. (Find a report place on your own…repair place can’t do an estimate without insurance permission… insurance states they don’t give permissions to places for estimates. Many phone calls later I can finally get an estimate) now that the estimate is completed, CIG won’t cover a portion of the bumper damaged in the accident for some unknown reason. The car had never had any other damage and I was hit by a pickup truck with a big work grill of course the damage is from that incident. I plan to cancel insurance with capital once our term is over. Worst insurance interactions I’ve had in my lifetime.

What a disaster.

CIG has no preferred shops in Sacramento -- perhaps because no one is willing to work with them. So we had to select a reputable shop and schedule evals ourselves. The adjuster then determined that some of the collision damage was not covered because there was an undamaged (recessed) part in between the two damaged parts. We were then told there was no escalation path but to file a complaint with the state. After the shop disassembled and found damage all along the line between the externally visible parts, the adjuster continued to refuse to cover the full original damage, even asking the shop service advisor "were you there?" (at the accident) when the shop advisor said the damage was obviously from the same incident. Was the adjuster there either? How incredibly rude and unprofessional, not to mention stupid.

Now despite our advisor leaving messages with seemingly every supervisor, no one will return her calls. The disputed portion is ~$1500 -- CIG has burned more than that in time debating this. Neither we nor the advisor have encountered such a ridiculous, recalcitrant insurer, and we will certainly be filing with the state. Avoid CIG.
