I would like to thank Aidan Murphy personally for his dedication in getting this over the line for all of us (the seller and myself as the buyer). This transaction was not without its difficulty for a number of reasons but mainly due to a very poor performance by our finance broker who sent down the wrong path several times and wasted a lot of time, more than 2 months around Feb-Apr 2024.

Aidan stuck to the task in hand, was even handed and I always tried to be entirely honest as to the position and kept Aidan informed throughout. Hilton Smythe as an organisation with it mainly being Aidan did work effectively and supported us as the buyer and chased things up from the seller's solicitor and seller in particular when needed.

I would like to commend Aidan for his diligence, I met him in Bolton during the transaction and also his sense of seeing the end game and not being distracted by all of the here and now.

The seller and I both knew as seller and buyer that our fit was very strong and as a relatively new company we needed support around Funding, process and and even a little Mentoring / hand holding but we quickly raised to the task and I think that Aidan played his part inbeing supportive of the whole project.

If there is any tiny constructive criticism, Aidan did try too much in the latter stages to push things on but we spoke and I emailed effectively to let the do-ers do their professional jobs not keep answering updates so I did try and keep an update going, our Solicitor mentioned that she updated Aidan 6 times in one day, but I think Aidan got / realised where he was adding value as we all did and this worked out very well in the end no doubt about it.

Aidan got this balance right between trying to keep abreast of everything going on and not micro-managing all in the process and to his credit realised that we were all working damned hard to meet the end game, and with our updates the balance was struck in the right place.

In summary, Aidan added significant value to this very daunting and complicated work, was very professional in all dealings and if I ever sell my business in the future, I will be tracking Aidan down whether he be at Hilton Smythe of employed in the game elsewhere to ask him is he would support this.

We found out the hard way about Hilton Smyth. PLEASE PLEASE do your research before using this business. We initially decided to sell our business 2 years ago. We were given the hard sell and told that our business was worth £39k excluding stock value!

We paid excess of £1500 ex VAT to list our business and we were promised all the bells and whistles, lets just say, we got no bells, no whistles and only two, yes TWO interested parties over the two year period!

Despite contacting the Hilton Smyth to raise our concerns, we were passed from pillar to post and our contact wasn't available anytime we called.... I wonder why? Maybe because he sold us a package which they never intended to actually follow through on?

Promised regular contact - that's only if you contact them! Absolutely shambolic service but they have their money so they don't care... Still waiting for my business to sell with their expert team who specialise in my business type....

The only time they contact you is to do a 'file review' and ask you to drop your asking price (which they expertly valued the business at!).... We dropped it twice (still no sale!!)

Wonder if they will offer a refund for failing to fulfil their contract? Pigs will fly first!

On a side note - why does your website have 19 reviews from google showing 5 stars? Has one of your team been tasked to adapt the API requests to Google to filter out poor reviews to make yourself look good
