The avenues to communicate with this insurance company is horrible. I have been calling them all morning because one of their policy holders hit my car last night. My insurance company as well as myself have tried to call them directly, no response. If you try to talk to the claims center the phone call immediately disconnects. I’ve left a voicemail and use the claims center webpage on their insurance webpage and haven’t received any communication back. This place is a scam and tries to make it impossible for you to contact them in hopes to deter you from filing a claim. Looking at the other reviews of others who left a review, I see my assumptions are correct. Why is it so hard to speak to someone about a car accident that one of their policy holders is at fault for? My insurance even helped me find an extension of a agent there and they haven’t answered the phone once. Something very wrong with the way this company operates.

It's sad to see MULTIPLE consumers experiencing the same crap I am due to this unprofessional, faulty company. My car was broken into TWO MONTHS AGO and due to them putting my name and the bank name on the check I have been going through a whirlwind of drama to get the car I'M PAYING FOR back. Then I spoke to an illiterate rep who tried to make it seem like I was wrong when asking questions. Very inhumane, unethical company.

Ok guys so my car was broken into. They tried to steal it but couldn't. I had to tow my own car to the shop. I was given a rental. This was on a Friday, the following Monday an agent from Discovery called and said they could not extend the rental because they had not gotten a response from the dealer. I was at work, I had to stop working to contact the dealer to get someone to call them or to respond to the email or something. So they called me back and said we were good. Fast forward to today. Mia called again, same threat, we can't extend the rental because she had not spoken to nobody today. She was not even given them time to respond. They told me to be patient when I asked about the adjuster and when they were going to call me. She telling me this is their policy, oh ok so let me speak with your supervisor. She put Odesta on the phone, she was just as rude and was no supervisor, so why she got involved I don't know. So I asked for a supervisor and Christy came to the phone. She was not rude at all. She took sympathy to my concern still trying to justify her Teams actions. I pay my insurance every month and this happens and this is how you're treated. I thanked Christy and hung up but. I'm not happy at all with this situation and how the agents tried to play me on the phone. Made me wait 10 minutes then put her coworker on like she was a supervisor. This is the treatment our money pays for. I thought y'all were better than this. Guess not šŸ˜”

I’ve been with this company a few years now. Def 5+. I got into my first wreck around a month ago… it was a hit and run that someone did to me and another motorist. My car was still drivable but had some body damage at the front of the car. BUT like I said, it drove just fine. The adjuster Elliot was super nice and informative of what to expect. At this time, I’m a bit scared, and concerned since this isn’t a process I’m used to. The next morning, a rep named Michael Vick called me to give me an update on my car and situation. It was diff than what was suggested by the adjuster. By immediately telling me that my car more than likely It’s gonna be a total loss. When I ask questions about how that works, and what the options are, I was constantly being interrupted, And even was talked to nasty about how having insurance doesn’t mean that I get a new car. Which is not what I was trying to do all I was trying to do is Get my car fixed .. I had gotten an accident by a hit-and-run And was basically told by this man that I’m screwed because the total cost of my car will be less than what I Owe the bank… I get that that’s how insurance goes .. what I DO NOT appreciate is being talked down to and with an attitude by somebody that supposed To be helping me. With a company that I’ve been paying to every single month for years. With this information, I was very stressed.. Thinking I’m about to have no vehicle etc. Thank goodness my mother works insurance Also And referred me to a body shop that insures with her company. As soon as I called that body shop and sent them pictures, they let me know that everything at the insurance company needs they can fix for me. Without having to total my car. When I called the guy Mike back, He seemed annoyed and basically told me he didn’t know anything else about my case that it was escalated To his supervisor Georgia … Upon speaking to her, Didn’t make the situation any better I was being accused of Doing backdoor deals with body shops, That they don’t do that, Pretty much raising her voice through the phone about all this different insurance terminology that I don’t understand. Until I had to let her know that I was recording the conversation I had as if the insurance company was trying to get rid of my case make me total the car and just move on with it. My car has been fixed completely with the body shop … Is this how customers who could’ve lost their life in a wreck might be scared with the situation like this are supposed to be treated? So disgraceful. My renewal was two days From when I got in the wreck. I immediately left this company and went to national General … I hope moving forward the next customers that they have aren’t treated as badly as I was..

My husband and I filed a claim, we have been waiting for the check. When we finally did get the check, they put our name and our car leases bank name. Making it essentially unusable. Our bank said they cannot deposit nor cash it until someone from that bank comes with us in person to endorse the check. What kind of stupid shit is that? No one ever answers at discovery and they aren't open on the weekends, not even a phone line to call. So people just don't get in accidents or need to file stuff on the weekends. Right. And from reading all of the other reviews, I will be canceling my policy with them.

Trust the reviews. Not even our insurance provider but dealing with them (one of their policy holders rear ended us) is a absolute nightmare and they don't want to pay for anything even though their person was 100% at fault.

The reviews here speak for themselves. If you want dependable full coverage insurance RUN FAR AWAY from Discovery Insurance. My car caught fire on a weekend over an hour away from home, the "24/7 claims department" was definitely not open, I never received a response to the voicemails I left. The adjuster was unprofessional and her voicemail stated "if you call/message multiple times it will result in a delayed response".... Of course my FULL COVERAGE policy that was paid for multiple years on time did not cover anything except a $100 reimbursement on a tow. Oh and before they even came to a decision or talked with me, they sent a letter stating they were dropping my coverage.

I wouldn't recommend Discovery Insurance to my worst enemy. PLEASE SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.

Discovery’s driver (at fault) admitted it on scene, witnesses, charged by police with turning into oncoming traffic under a caution light and still nearly two months out ā€œ still investigatingā€. Poor communication, apathetic agents. May end up getting lawyer to push this through.

Go up
